According to NYT Obama has confided to others it would be easier to be president of China ! I'm sure Obama would like nothing more than to be the supreme leader so he can shove his transformation more easily down our throats! What a pain it must be having to put up with democracy... maybe he really isn't that different than the union thugs in WI that threw a tantrum when they couldn't get their way after having lost in elections.

The source you cited printed a "summary" of what they "interpret" Obama as saying in the NY Times article. Here's the relevant passage as it was printed originally:

"...How Mr. Obama manages to do that while also balancing American interests is a question that officials acknowledge will plague this historic president for months to come. Mr. Obama has told people that it would be so much easier to be the president of China. As one official put it, “No one is scrutinizing Hu Jintao’s words in Tahrir Square.” http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/11/world … .html?_r=1

Questions: - "Mr. Obama has told people..." Which people?
"As one official put it..."  What official. Do these people have names?

The NYT used to have higher standards than to print rhetoric from unnamed sources.

I was aware of that passage... I'm certainly not going to disagree that the NYT isn't a beacon of undiased truth and exemplary reporting but the libs love it so ...

Bush said it would have been easier to be a dictator. And in fact, he was a dictator.

And his wars for oil were immoral and war crimes. And while Obama is wrongly carrying on, he is trying to end them.

        Is he?
Looks to me like he's trying to end wars on outside territory while he starts 'em on homeland soil.

That is pretty cryptic. I don't get it.

What?  You can't see that he's a great instigator of conflict?  Look closely.  Notice the huge virtual chip on his shoulder, his quick judgement of people who aren't either his color or clinging to his mindset or his political agenda; he has deliberately instigated more civil unrest and emotional controversy than anyone I can recall.   Among other things.  Plain as day.

Sorry, Brenda. While he is in bed with the big banks, I think your analysis is without foundation. I think you are making a racist statement.

Its got to be tough, having a philosophy and way of thinking that is so opposite of what this country was founded on.  Its going to feel like an ongoing battle, but what gets me, is what that battle is blamed on.

People in general, either are for or against the core principles this country was founded on.  The group that is trying to push an agenda that is against those core facts is going to have to either resort to many tactics to push their own agenda (which we see playing out) or experience sheer frustration.

That's a creepy thing to hear. I don't think he's going to get re-elected with that attitude.

      I wouldn't call it great. Agenda-driven, yes.

Hardly Nobel-prize winning, or even human up-lifting.

      Just GIGO.

Poor Barack Obama, trying to govern against the will of the people on nearly any issue you care to name, and crying foul and lamenting his lowly state when those of us among the great unwashed can't just see his brilliance and genius for what it is.

It's a shame that incompetence doesn't rise to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors....then maybe we could actually get him out of office and back into Community Organizing where he so obviously belongs...

      In case you forgot:

"Obama beat McCain by 52 percent to 46 percent, and he could realistically claim a mandate with nearly two-thirds of the Electoral College. As of Wednesday afternoon, he had 349 electoral votes compared to 173 for McCain, with only North Carolina and Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District left to declare."

Now, I know this doesn't matter to you,as some people never acknowledge us a being "real" America, but Obama is NOT going against the will of the people...only your kind of people.
And your kind of people HAD 8 years and you blew it...right up the big wazoo.
So, respect the 52% who voted for Obama, will you? You don't have a God-Given right to have your way.
Cause your man IS guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors and he got he away with it.
Show some humilty and class. Repubs have been in charge for most of my life....give someone else a chance.

Which of course explains why Obama's poll numbers dropped faster than any President in recent history.....people woke up and realized that they had been sold a bill of goods with very little in the way of substance behind it.

I'm always wondering why you are so angry, LMC, given that it is your guy in the White House and all.  Must be that whole wealth envy thing again....Obama hasn't redistributed all of our wealth fast enough for you, right?

  5. lovemychris profile image77
    lovemychrisposted 13 years ago

They have been sold a bill of goods all right, but not by Obama.

And I geuss you never considered I might be angry because a president of the United States actually did committ high crimes and mis-demeanors, ruined the economy, and got away with all if it...

And not only that, but the man who comes along after him gets all the blame for everything!

And you have the income distribution thing backwards BTW---take a look around you.

400 people have more wealth than 155 million others...that's what I call re-distribution allright...to the top.

It was gvt policies that made that happen, gvt policies can reverse it.

Tax cuts and de-regulation: the bookends of our demise.

"Go ahead fella's--take what you want. No one's looking, and we don't care anyway...say, you got that check for my re-election campaign?"

"Oil you say? How much you want for our piece of it?"
"War you say? Who will get the contracts?"

    Profiteers.Greed.Death. Misery.

    BOOOOOOO-be gone!!

There used to be two things guaranteed in life, death and taxes, but now we can add one more to the list......the once-per-thread LMC wealth envy rant.
