   The amount of money and followers in modern day football (soccer) means that is by far the best sport in the world and the people's choice! What does everyone think and how do you define what is best?

   I agree, it used to be.  In the seventies, when men were men and football was a tough man's game.
   
   Now it's all a bunch of divers and drama queens.  I hate the modern game, when you've watched games from the 80s like the regular FA cup finals between Liverpool and Everton you'd feel the same.
   
   No club's immune from it too, everyone indulges in a bit of diving or timewasting, king (or queen) of this is Didier Drogba.  The biggest joke in the Premier League.
   
   Football was the greatest sport in the world, but it's long since been a joke, there's plenty more exciting and impressive games being played these days.

   I used to love football with a passion when the genius that was George Best graced the grass along with Denis Law. Throw in that 1970 Brazil team with Pele and managers like Clough and Shankly and you can see how football has sold it's soul to the devil or sky as the case may be. Oh for the FA Cup Semis on a Saturday at either Villa Park or Old Trafford now it's a damn Sunday at Wembley. Sorry but for me football was a Saturday day out, fun a meat pie and a drink. In life I recall 2 pleasures, sex with someone you love and the raised arm of George Best and that cheeky grin as the worlds greatest ever player scores. RIP Geordie !

      EXACTLY! I'd sooner watch a repeat of Ian Rush, Peter Beardsley and that moustachioed mentalist Graham Souness than any of the prima donnas on the pitch these days.
      
      Far too worried about thier hairstyle and what gaudy colour their boots are than the actual game.
      
      Football is a saturday game, but why only show one on a saturday when you can push some to sunday, and to whatever stadium you want....that must've been what Sky thought.  They started this, fashionista footballers threw the final boot in.
