Advice for a newbie, please

   Hello all,
   
   Having recently joined HubPages, and a ken and active writer, I have yet to actually write and publish a hubpage. I intend to write about a diverse range of topics, and hope to make enough money to buy a couple of music cds every month (not a fortune!)
   
   What's the best piece of advice you can give someone who intends to begin publishing?

      Personally, I would advise you to write good articles about subjects you enjoy.  Aim for at least 400 words, up to about 1,500 words.  Learn how to add photos and videos to break up the text, because people online don't like to read lumps of indigestible words.
      
      Some people jump right into keyword research and SEO, and find it works for them - it really depends on how your mind works. If you're a natural at that stuff, it's certainly the way to make money.  If you're not, you'll get bored and demotivated so it will have the opposite result!

   By that time the first lot of writing will have started to age enough to earn you money.

   Welcome to Hub Pages!
   
   Just write what you know and like to write. There are free keyword tools to see what keywords people are searching for; it is called google keyword tools, put related tags, be active in forum, tweet your hubs. Wishing you good luck.

   Write original content.  Be creative.  Be persistent.  Write.  Write.  Edit.  Edit.  Edit.  Write.  Write and write some more.  Step back, let it simmer for a day or two, go back and critique it with fresh eyes.  Never rush.  Use proper grammar, correct your spelling and provide information your reader can use and/or enjoy.  Participate in the forums. Read the articles written by other writers on this site and other sites.  Learn from them.  Ask questions.  Provide visuals whenever you can.  Learn and apply SEO techniques.  Most importantly, enjoy the time you are writing.

   Just one more query:  How easy it is to edit a published hubpage? I imagine myself getting a page published, then attempting to change/improve it.

      Quite easy. just click on the hub and you will see an edit button up top.

      You can edit a hub as many times and in as many ways as you wish. The only part you cannot edit is the URL.

   It is fine to learn as you go.  You've already gotten some good advice as to writing original content and "write, write, write."  It takes a while to have your hubs mature...so be patient.  Also study what HubPages gives you as guidelines.  I am still learning and the nice thing is that as you learn, you can edit and change your hubs at any time.  Good luck and best wishes!

   Be consistent, committed and ethical.  Learn about the nuances of effective web writing with SEO.  Above all, follow the 'netiquettes'.

    Write a lot of quality content, and participate in the forums, answer as many questions as you can, which may help others in need, and HAVE FUN!

    From my short experience with HubPages,
    
    1.Write about what you are really interested in.
    2.Write honestly, thinking that you are going to help someone
    3.Research on the internet about the topic, scribble main points, elaborate it.
    4.Arrange capsules nicely, with good pictures.
    5.Before writing, do a search on HubPages on the topic and see what is already available there. This will help to be unique. (I had situation where I canceled my plan to write on something as there were many hubs readily available.)
    6. Find a nice title, that should ask people to 'click-me'
