Google hasn't indexed my hub :-(

   I published this hub http://hubpages.com/hub/Light-Notebooks … t-Laptops- on the 29th Jan and its still not indexed in google - and before anyone asks I know because if I do a google search on the entire url google can't find it.  The last hub I published on the 2 Feb http://hubpages.com/hub/Nokia-6310 and already in google.  I have manually submitted the first url - but I've never had to do that before on hubpages - has anyone else had this problem?

      Lissie: I was looking at your tags. You might want to be more "pointed" with them. "Lightest" instead of just "light" or combine terms like "light" and "ultraportable." e.g. add some more tags like "lightest ultraportable", "lightest laptop" and so on.
      
      I published a hub on the three lightest laptops currently made, also on the 29th. GMTA?
      
      Anyway I was very inclusive with my tags and if I type "who makes the lightest laptop/ultraportable" into the great G gawduh of search engines my hub is typically the second or third listing.
      
      Naturally a manufacturer takes top billing \

   Most times Google seems to take a couple of days to index a hub. Just occasionally though it can take longer. I have had the odd lens take about 1 week. I wouldn't panic just yet.

   I've had pages indexed on Google before and then disappear entirely for a couple of days. In fact, the weird thing is, in that particular case, that the Digg bookmark still showed up. I asked around and got told that my site had been caught up in the "Google Dance". Short explanation: Google has 10 servers, and the site is initially indexed onto one of them. The 10 servers are synchronised every so often (maybe once a day?) and your site can drop off as it gets exchanged from server to server. Eventually it will re-appear, usually in a couple of days. Maybe this is what happened.
   
   I've also heard it can take up to two weeks for a page to appear. Usually it happens faster, but there can be a lag, so I've been told, anyway.
   
   Have you tried bookmarking the page on Digg? It's technology so it'd go over well there. The other thing you could do is ping your RSS feed. (Your author feed)
   
   Add your feed to MyYahoo and iGoogle, and then ping it using www.pingomatic.com. That might be enough to get the search engine's attention.

      I thought bookmarking your own stuff on digg was a big no no? Thanks for pingomatic - I'd forgotten about but have done it now. 
      I'm pretty sure google hasnt found it all as Ive had no traffic at all from them and normally I get some within 24 hr - even yahoo found it now.

         You're right it's against the rules to Digg your stuff, I'd forgotten that. You'll be happy to know the hub has been Dugg. :-)

         I hope not. I do it every time. I use Digg, del.is.ious, reddit, and StumbleUpon. What I'd like to know is how do I get more exposure on Yahoo or AOLSearch?

         I'm not a search engine expert, so I can't answer that. I'm only repeating what I've been told. Each search engine uses it's own rules to decide what goes where, so maybe Yahoo likes you better? Maybe it's just taking longer to show up on Google.

         Normally I find that google indexes within 24 hr and yahoo takes about 7 days.  The page is still not indexed ;-(

   I wish I knew how to do any of this stuff.  I'm not sure if I'm on google anything. 
   
   My kids know about computers, and tell me to do it myself.  Funny, when I don't know how!  bjp

   you could submit to http://www.stumbleupon.com (self submission is OK as long as it is relevant to the submission category) as well and yes, google indexes hub pages at it's own will. Some of my hubs get good amount of google traffic, but others dont.

   I've just had a look myself Lissie, it's in there somewhere because there is a listing under your MAC Comparisions hub (probably from the link to related hubs) and it's featured in the hubpages index of hubs tagged with 'laptop'.
   
   Your own lissiearticles site listing appears, just seems that the individual hub hasn't made its way onto the list yet. Not sure why though!
   
   My understanding is that manually submitted url's can take a long time with google and I don't know if their system is holding back listing that page until the manual submission is cleared.

      The weird thing is that its showing no backlinks too - which is weird because normally you get heaps of internal hubpage back links from the topics, hotest etc pages

   I've never heard of plingomatic. How does it work. Like do you put in you RSS feed or the individual hub link?

      You should put in an RSS feed at Pingomatic. Basically what you need to do is set up the feed first. Here at HubPages they have an author feed which you can find on the RH side of any of your hubs. Submit this feed to a couple of places, for example MyYahoo. If you don't have a Yahoo account, set up one, and there's a section where you can submit feeds. iGoogle is another place you can submit feeds. You have a Google account already for Adsense.
      
      Once you've done that then go to Pingomatic and select the places where you want your page pinged. Put in your page title, URL and your author feed there. If you've submitted to Yahoo make sure that's there, and then tell it to ping all the places you've selected. Only ever ping when you have an update and with every site or feed not more than once a day. Apparently this gives the heads up to the search engines that your page has been updated and they go looking for it.

   I can't  find it on Google. I just had to redo and delete a hub yesterday because
   it didn't list on Google. Just now when went to post this I got a message
   'hubpages down for scheduled maintenance'. Now is that coincidental or what
   because that's what happened to me when I was writing my hub that didnt
   get posted on google. Glitches in the system. If can never find it, will have
   to redo it. Thanks for tip on pingomatic.
