    Hi All:

My hub traffic has dropped by around 35 to 40 percent over the last couple of days. I know I've read other forum posts from people who were experiencing this, but because my traffic wasn't dropping, I didn't pay good attention. Anyway, any advice would be appreciated. I've been on HP for two months and have 73 hubs. Man, I hope it picks back up. Further, most of my traffic was organic from search engines for the longest time, and I've noticed a couple of my hubs vanished form the first page of the Google results.

    Best,

    Max.

Thanks, lobo. I'll just cross my fingers that some of that traffic comes back. I figured my traffic was in a stage of churning, but I didn't realize what the bottom of the churning range was; hopefully, I've found it and I can start working my way back up.

I hate to say this Max but it looks as if many of your pages have sandboxed.

I searched for several of your pages with long and very specific titles (just putting the titles into the search engine). They should have been number one in Google but I couldn't see them anywhere.

When I searched for paragraphs from your pages they were not coming up in search as they should.

I don't know if there has been a Panda run but your account is showing signs of being a Panda victim.

If that is the case it really seems entirely undeserved.

Thanks for the explanation, Will. I have seen that happen to other people on here. Yeah, I don't feel like I deserved to get poleaxed. I have read some people on here who claim to get sandboxed and then a few days later they're right back to where they were before they got hit. Weird.

I really hope it changes. It's a good feeling to see hard work on hubs pay off. I guess I'll just let it simmer for a few days and see what happens.

Thanks again for taking the time to explain.

      Max.

    Hi Max
I remember the first Panda I experienced.  It liked to have drove me nuts.  I thought I was the worst writer.  What did I do wrong?  My best efforts didn't increase my traffic.

Then I remembered one of my articles on ehow about "Raising Worms"It was on first page there was only one other article about raising worms.  The first year it was published I think I earned 2cents.  The next year I earned $200 on just that article.  That article out performed all my articles.  Ehow now owns that article.

I think you been on hubpages about 2 months.  If I were you I would focus on my writing and forget about the traffic and earnings worrying about it won't improve your traffic or earnings.

Any writer on Hubpages or anywhere else will tell you some articles just don't earn.  They may get a fair amount of traffic but very little earnings.

Some articles earn right away.  Some are steady earners.  Google is unpredictable and so is the traffic and the advertisers constantly changes.  So the way I figure it.  I can't control none of that so I write the best way I know how.  If I have what I call a less than perfect article because I wasn't in the mood to write and it is a year old I tweak those only if I can't find or think of something to write about.

Thanks, tamron. This also really helps. I think I am just gonna keep writing, go with the flow and see what happens. I may also take your advice and poke through some of my old articles and see what could have been done or said better.

      Best,

      Max.

    Hi Max,

I just Googled "Panda Update January 2012" and there is some chatter about a possible Panda update on January 4-5. Nothing official, but it looks like several sites were hit from the discussion forums.

Hang in there - I was slammed by the October 13 "minor algorithm change" and my traffic has slowly been crawling back.

I do think there was a Panda update because all my hubs have seen a drastic change some going crashing (not literally just hopped onto the second page) and some from not in the top 100 are now on the second page. Others from page 4 to page 2 etc and some from page 3 to out of the top 200!!. The yahoo and bing stats are constant. So I do say something has happened maybe a minor Panda or a teddy bear big_smile.. Just one hub hasn't moved a mile it stayed put by losing just 1 rank.

      Hi leahlefler,

Thanks for the explanation. I'm gonna fight the good fight and see what happens. At least HP is a cool place to ride out a storm, lol.

Max, I think you have got some wonderful advise...just hang on.. I had been sand boxed for almost six months....and traffic just would build up... no matter what I did, I just hung around and wrote some more, with a heavy heart of course... and I was rewarded with my traffic increasing three fold. It is really hard going through it.. I do hope yours will be shorter and you will come out of all this stronger. God Bless!!

Sorry to hear it, Max.  Just hang in there and keep doing what you're doing.  I, too went through it from 8/10/11 to 10/30/11 and emerged with WAY more traffic than ever.

I can't see any reason you'd be penalized, like Izzy and Randy it just seems baffling.  But, Google is an odd bird.

Hang in there and just keep writing.

Hmm, that seems to explain why my traffic has dropped by about 50% in the last two or three days or so. hmm

Oh well, it'll keep climbing back up eventually.
