I have been a part of several online dating and meeting sights: badoo, Tagged, Christian Dating for Free, etc. However, it really doesn't seem like they accomplish much. I talked to some females there, but very few of them actually wanted to do on a date. I thought it was a waste of time and deleted most of my accounts. However, I'm thinking of reactivating my accounts for the purpose of linking them back to Hub Pages to increase traffic to my hubs. wink

Will the sites actually allow you to set up a hyperlink back to hubpages? I've been a member of Plentyoffish in the past and that didn't allow posting of links

I've met people through Plentyoffish and had a few short term relationships of up to 3 months however free dating sites tend to have a lot of people on them which don't take them very seriously

I must admit I've not had a great deal of joy from internet dating, but that may be in part down to living in a small city in New Zealand. All the action lol appears to be in Auckland or Wellington, not my nondescript locale.

I'm still on Match but to be honest 99% of the profiles are fake and rather than chatting to a ravishing blonde 30 year old with a penchant for guys old enough to be her father, the likelihood is you are conversing with a sweaty, fat Russian guy who is just about to spill a sob story which could easily be sorted if you send them some money!

Sounds cynical but that has been my experience. And even if you do find a real person often they have used photos from the previous century!

But like you I'd be interested to hear of success stories!

I have had a lot of success with Match but only after subscribing to their paid membership.  After breaking up with my longtime girlfriend over the summer, some friends convinced me that I should give it a try. Well after being on there for a month with the free service I might have exchanged emails with 2 women. But after subscribing to the paid membership, I started getting matches and emails on a daily and weekly basis.  Since October 2011 to now February 4 2012, I have been on at least 1 date per week with a woman I met on Match.  A lot of those dates were multiple dates with the same woman but in all, I think I have dated about 16 different women since joining.  The real problem with it is finding one that is really a match.  We shall see... tonight is a 3rd date with a very nice woman and I'm in the middle of baking stuffed pork loin chops... you know she's a keeper if you want to cook for her tongue
