science proves that your emotions affect your body. that's why now that i feel so so homesick, i feel a lot of pain in my body. i cant breathe normally, i have constant chest pains. i have splitting head ache and i just dont feel normal. my skin looks so unhealthy too and my hair fall? at it's worse!
but i cant leave yet, i have a contract to finish. i'm so torn. i feel so devastated.
i need something to perk me up! help!
Let yourself dream of your favorite memories of home, and be fortified by the reality that you'll be able to enjoy them again soon. That's the real reward at the end of the contract. If you can get that sorted, now you can fully focus on the task at hand.
I don't know if this will make it better or worse: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=singapor … k&z=14
They do close ups. I've actually visited previous houses I've lived in.
Hey there I'm not sure if this will help but I know exactly how you feel. I also accepted a position that took me out of state on a contract. I was so very homesick that I also became ill. But had to weigh out the pro's and con's of my situation. I had friends that I had made in my new area. It just wasn't the same as my friends back home. I truly also missed my family and most times cried myself to sleep. I had to make a decision was my health that was progressively getting worse worth it? I had to be honest with myself that with my health issue's had to be my priority if I wanted to continue to enjoy my dreams in life. I decided to talk to my company that I contracted with were very understanding and waived my contract. I went back home. I do not regret it because maybe that door closed, but when I got back home there were other doors that opened up for me. This is life, living and learning, most importantly learning about yourself. You need to do what is right for your self, especially when it comes to your health. Just my suggestion, Monica. Don't be discouraged, be encouraged because you may have more options, than you may think.
i'm actually searching now for a home based job because i realized being at home is more important to me than earning more but being away from people and places important to me. i'm already thinking ways how to get out of the contract without me paying the band. lucky you to have worked with very understanding and considerate management. mine is not like that. so i'm really really really trying to find a legal way out. thanks so much. this helped encourage me and made me feel i'm not alone in this journey.
Hi
Use the phone, or e-mail, or text, or skype, or letters, or any other means of keeping in touch with family and friends ~ exchanging news, photos, love
Good luck!
Yes, using street view is fun. Also try using Skype to communicate with family and friends. It may make you feel like you're with them..temporarily/
After I made my other post, I went and visited 2 of the houses I lived in as a kid. Both were gone!!! Both replaced by newer, bigger ones. Alas, the past is indeed the past and does not exist any more...
Now that's sad,Para, but it showed that your family lived in an up and coming area!
I have revisited moat of the homes we lived in.
Getting back to the OP. this experience will make you stronger and appreciate what you had or have even more when you finish.
Then again, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
I know about homesickness - but I accidentally discovered the way to overcome it while I was at college in another state. I joined the drama group and got involved in production of a musical and in the process met a friend who was just such a great person - we had so much fun together and I didn't have time to be homesick anymore. It really saved my life. So get involved in something with other people and make a friend or several and you'll see that you can feel at home wherever you are!
You did a smart thing by joining HP since this site will let you keep busy with productive reading and writing and making new friends--benefits you now and you can enjoy them when you go back home! Welcome.
A beautiful place. I don't blame you for being homesick.
First thing first, I do agree that you may just be homesick. But don't forget that these could be sign of actual physical problem so have yourself check for any physical problems.
All I can say is that things do get better. Meet new people. Enjoy life. Move on and get the best of both worlds.
I've been away with family for few years myself.
Good luck
thanks webclinician. i went to a physician to have my chest checked actually. my blood pressure and heartbeat were perfectly normal despite the difficulty of breathing and stabbing pain. hey, if you can be away for a few years and be okay with it, i think i can too.
I agree with webclinician--make sure you get screened for possible clinical depression, too. If you have depression, an antidepressant may be all you need to get through this. It sounds like you're blaming yourself for feeling bad (just your tone) and feeling trapped and not feeling better even when good things happen (like Skype with family/friends). However, if you have depression it is the disease causing those feelings, and you are not at fault, AND you can recover from it. :-) Good luck, I wish you the best!
You can connect and socialize with other people there. Go out and explore the places around and schedule it.
i'm actually planning to take yoga classes with my friend here. and i am currently volunteering for a community. thanks!
That is good! Go to places where there are many people who get together with same interest as yours! Always remember time always flies faster when you are busy too! Take care.

Hi- I never thought I'd be asking for advice or referrals from HubPages, but I need your help. I haven't told my family yet but I found out today that I may have MS. I lost the vision in my Left eye completely about 2 weeks a go. Numerous tests including an MRI has been performed. I am 39. It has...

Is menopause making anyone else crazy?I am so tired of the sweating! Hot flashes and night sweats are no fun. How does one get a good night's sleep when they have to change pajamas or bedding or both in the middle of the night? Sleeping nude is worse - sweat trickles and tickles...

I had a friend named Lynda I've known since early 70's. We've been through so much together. We were running buddies in the 70's, party animals, then devoted wives & mothers in the 80's-90's. She had Lupus. Fought it for nearly 30 years. Nothing changed between us, still friends, but our...
