My Laptop is failed to give me the display...

   I have got a severe problem with my laptop as it is not giving any sorta display. Processor is working, as I can hear the sound of fan spinning, but no display or hard-drive detection I can feel.
   Please help me to figure the problem, I cant rely totally on the mechanics or shop keeper for that.
   
   Also tell me if it is a RAM problem. What would be the cause of such weird behavior.

      if your laptop out of warranty then you can temper it. open you laptop's ram section and reinstall ram after plugging out. this can help you.

      There may be am problem in ur RAM. So, please remove the ram and start the laptop.

      You have several suggestion on how to fix it that I can see (I like the one about seeing the manufacture the best) but until then you can do what we've done with my dad’s old comp; hook it up to a desktop monitor. I'm not too sure what’s wrong with dad's laptop, but we have no display on it either. Hooking it up to the monitor allowed us to see what was on the screen.

   I hate seeing a question unanswered, but from what you describe it could be your memory card, motherboard, hard disk, graphics card or some other random and seemingly unrelated problem.

   There are 2 things you should check:
   1. Make sure your speakers are on first and then turn the computer on. If you can hear your computer starting (Windows startup sound or whatever noise Macs make) then it's most likely your video card A.K.A. graphics card.
   2. If there is no sound, then it is probably your hard drive. The computers operating system is stored on the hard drive. Therefore, if the hard drive has died, then essentially your computer has no way of loading anything.
   
   P.S. It would help if you named the specs of your computer like operating system, model, brand, any customization you might have done to it.

      Connect the laptop to an external monitor and see if you get a display is the first port of call here.
      
      If you do then I would expect the LCD inverter or LCD itself or LCD cable is caputt / loose.
      
      If you do not get a display then it could be the graphics card, RAM, motherboard (hope not!) or CPU.
      
      RAM that is bad or not seated all the way down would cause a no VGA situation, same as a duff CPU.
      
      It's hard to narrow down what it is likely to be until you test it on an external monitor.

   I always go for the least expensive causes first.
   
   One of those is a loose connection.
   
   Another is an oxidized connection.
   
   Disconnect/reconnect all the connectable items to remove possible oxidation. Maybe even use a little emery paper.
   
   Follow this advice only if you know what you are doing.

      If the display is gone, please do not experiment. Consult your manufacturer ASAP. Otherwise they will charge you extra for the maintenance. As there is a possibility that the manufacturers warranty will be void if you will check too many things to get a cure for the situation.

   It seems that you have a loose connection. You RAM is not properly seated in its socket or you at even sever case scenarios, you might have a burned out CPU. The LCD monitor might be dead as well.

         Yeah, I sure hope so. This was posted 2 years ago.
         
         I spilled a beer on my laptop a few months back and got no display once I dried it and best I could and turned it back on.
         
         I plugged it into an external monitor and used it like that for several weeks. Of course I couldn't take it anywhere. The display finally game back on. First gradually and now it is fine. Now I keep the beer further from the computer.
