If You Could Make A List

If someone told you they had invented a device that could run factories, distribute products and effectively supply all of your wants and needs...if they told you that this device would only be programmed to support you, your loved ones and any plants or animals you chose to include. It would not only be unable to support any others, but everything and everyone not on your list of loved ones would be removed from existence. How large would your list be? Who and what would be excluded?

Seriously couldn't do it...to remove the rest of the people in the world who aren't on my list of loved ones?  How could I ever add to my list of loved ones that way?

Nope.  Anything that eliminates people for any reason - just not my thing.

      But...a very interesting question.

So, you could certainly include the entire world in your list. Couldn't you? I mean, wouldn't we all love others enough to include them in a list of the living?

I could...but what concerns me is those who are born AFTER the list is created.  Can I include everyone on earth born and yet to be born?

If you included everything, I would assume that would allow reality to lumber on as it has. Opting to allow life to exist wouldn't include sterilizing us, I wouldn't think.  My point was pretty much that. Given the option, anyone would choose for all to live. I'm curious if that is the option we choose, why would we think God would be different. If we exclude anything how is that love?

I think that people do this exact thing in a much smaller context, in the way we allow some people into our immediate enviroments and we exclude others. When we unconciously accept and recognition that certain aspects of life does exist while neglecting to recognize that others do exist.
In a way we build our lives (world) to suit ourselves. So in a smaller way, we are a universe in and of ourselves.     I know this statement is easy to argue with ...  cause I didn't explain myself very well.

I get what you are saying and agree. Einstein touched on that eloquently once.

I never get any credit when I come to certain conclusions lol  Cause some smart person has already thunked it up before I did.   Oh well?    There is nothing new under the sun.

Well, Einstein was eloquent but you put it into other words that others might understand where they didn't follow his. You can't say a good thing too often; I think.

Basically, your asking us to selfishly choose who will live and who will get wiped out.

That is an incredibly selfish take on the question. Shame on you. smile

Me too. But, isn't that what hope for a heaven that isn't all inclusive is?

I see what your getting at. This hell notion makes no sense at all. A loving forgiving God committing Genocide, but not just killing those who were unable to believe in his existence torturing them forever? And in the same breath I'm told he can't even be around sin. It's like saying Hitler was a loving forgiving person incapable of sin.

Be careful there. One Hubber finds me incredibly offensive for making that comparison; but I see it as a relevent one.
