According to my stats, on one hub for the past 24 hours, I have a ton of incoming traffic as shown below.
I don't mind the traffic and am thankful for it, but I have never seen quite a spike like this before.
l.facebook.com: 280
facebook.com: 269
m.facebook.com: 134
This hub averages only a few hits a day on a normal day.
In the past, I have had some views do this from a big sharing on Pinterest on a particular hub, and I was able to confirm there was nothing "wrong" with that large influx of traffic.
Are the above domains anything to be concerned about? I have read some on this and have learned that m.facebook is mobile and facebook is simply good old Facebook traffic. The l.facebook seems to have generated quite a few opinions in various forums online.
I was hoping that I could get some HP input here from tech support.
It sounds like you may have had some Hubs that were popular on Facebook.
There is nothing about those sources that strikes me as problematic.
Thanks for the quick response and allowing me to not worry!
Hi Dale,
It looks like your Hub has become popular on Facebook. Congrats! It's nothing to be concerned about. Hubs often get sudden, unexpected bursts from Facebook and Pinterest due to the nature of social sharing. People on social media tend to read, like, and share content quickly in a short period of time based on what their friends are posting at that moment (referred to as "trending topics").
Thanks for the detailed explanation and quick response!
Agreed, maybe they have not gone viral but those Hubs obviously do well on social media. So you should see if they enjoy the same success by sharing them on other social networks like Tumblr & Twitter.
I had that happen to a hub last week, sadly a short lived burst of attention, but it was nice while it lasted
I went back on FB several months ago but still cannot get the hang of it.
Don't know how to get friends to my page, and believe me, I have tried.
Yet, every day I might get 1 to 3 views...cannot figure that out at all!
Any advice?
You don't really need to 'get the hang of' Facebook. Just create content people will share on Facebook, then they do the work promoting your Hubs
Was there any steps you did to make this progress like share it on Facebook? I am wondering as I am looking for a way to get a spike like you did! Thanks!
I am just wondering, what the heck are "l.facebook," and "m.facebook" ???????

I'm bored. Ok correction, I'm procrastinating. I randomly come on and off the forums and on this return visit I've seen SO many people questioning why their hubs aren't making money and/or getting traffic. So for as long I'm having fun, feel free to post below (either for your whole account or one...

Do you have an external blog that you link to your hubs? Do you write articles for an online magazine? And is it recommended to specialise in one or two areas - and connect a blog to these hub topics?I receive bursts of traffic when I promote my hubs on social media but I am looking into other ways...

Do you use social media to bring traffic to your hubs? What are your favorites?

If a niche site is bringing you a lot of traffic you can mention that as well.

If we pump up our use of social media, i.e., marketing our articles more, will it help increase our traffic much? Or won't it make much difference because we are more dependent upon organic traffic? Something tells me we might have to wait out this drought. What say you?

Is there any website where you can share a link for your article in order to get traffic?
