Ebay Capsule... only one listing?

Are you using the eBay capsule?

I can't get more than one eBay auction to show on one of my pages -- only one auction per eBay capsule.

Squidoo allowed us to feature up to 5 eBay auctions per module -- is there a setting in HubPages that I'm missing?

    Thanks!
    Coe

Here, you may only feature one item per capsule.

Yeah, only one does seem to be extreme, but Google doesn't seem to like eBay much, so this doesn't surprise me that HP would do this.

You can line them up in such a way to at least enhance the size of the photo: Set them up to the right inside an article, and see if you like it that way.

The same limitation applies to Amazon capsules - it's one product per capsule.

I realize that, I should have mentioned it.

I think because of the redesign of the Amazon capsule which is much better than before, it really makes the eBay capsule seem inferior.

Plus you can't add text to the eBay capsule I believe?  With 3 Amazon capsules and a text module you can sort of mimic the 3 product Amazon module that was on Squidoo. Providing of course they are focused, and specific to the topic...and not over used.

By the way, thank you so much for your friendly help in the various threads, it is much appreciated.

Paul Edmonson has said they are going to be revamping the eBay capsules so I'm guessing they will look more like the Amazon ones in future.

BTW you are aware of the difference in cookies between eBay and Amazon?   I always favour Amazon these days because of it.

Oh absolutely, from Oct 2013 it has been rough for auctions. I have adapted the best I could, but it was the high dollar auction that did well for me with Squidoo and on 2 blogs.

I did focus more on buy it now instead of gambling on the auction bid happening at the right time, and that did improve things after a few months, but certainly nothing like it was before Oct. 2013.

Oh, lining up an eBay capsule to the right inside an article looks VERY nice! Thanks for the tip, Jason!

You're Welcome. Don't forget you can do that with the Amazon Capsules too. and most other capsules.

I am still seeing many people not realizing that you can play with the look of videos, link lists, and Polls too.

Don't forget about the color options available when aligned right. "Inside edit mode".

You're welcome.  Remember that you can add more than one eBay capsule on a Hub, so long as the products are directly related to your Hub's content and that you have at least 50 words of text for each product displayed.

Is it difficult to find the correct eBay item you wish to showcase?

Yes!   However you can add negative keywords (e.g. to search for a flamenco dress, I had to enter "flamenco comb -doll -latin -salsa").  Just be sure to leave a space before each minus symbol and NO space after it.

Thanks Marisa: I know my Squidoo lenses transferred some eBay items already, but I rarely use eBay on my pages. Mainly, because it always seems like a hassle to find an item I like.

They don't convert as well as Amazon either, because of the way commission is paid now.

If our plan holds we will release an update to ebay in the next week.

Thanks on that Paul, and thanks for the overall smooth transfer of our work from Squidoo to HubPages! You and your staff are doing a great job.

Have you noticed that the ebay capsules all seem to be Buy Now. No bidding. Is this new or just a coincidence?
