Did no-one really spot this error?

   This is pointed more at the HubPages people than the author himself but why didn't anyone spot this error before plastering it over the front of HubPages? Doesn't really give the best impression!

      Yeah, that really bugged me to, but I didn't want to start a thread about it 'cause ppl can get really mean and I think we should be more supportive of each other. To give the writer credit though, 1) It is a difficult sentence/title to phrase and 2) I'm sure they weren't expecting it to be HOTD. lol... If he had known that, he might have taken a bit longer to rephrase that title. But overall, we should congratulate him, yes?

            I was trying to think of ways to rephrase it this morning when I signed on... but without punctuation.
            It was more of a fleeting thought though, I didn't spend much time thinking about it.
            It would be interesting to hear everyone's ideas on how it could have been phrased.

               As it is the intention of the article is clear enough if you can get past the spelling blunder. If anything  "How to Sell Your Photography for beginners" could have been a little clearer but not by much.

                  Oh my gosh, that's amazing. I just kept thinking that the phrasing was off. I hadn't even noticed the extra g. Still I wonder if there is another way to phrase that. Like: "Selling Photos: Tips for new photographers."

      Thanks for pointing this out! We do our best to pick great Hubs that follow all of the HOTD requirements, but we certainly overlook mistakes here and there. I've sent the author an email politely requesting an edit for the image. I do think it's otherwise an exemplary Hub with lots of useful information, personal experience, and even beautiful examples of the author's own photos.

   It's much more the fault of the staff than the author.  People who produce the content are bound to make mistakes and not catch all of them.  People who curate content for prominent display on the site should function as a second pair of eyes and catch the mistakes that slip by the author.  They could have sent him an email that his hub was under consideration for HOTD but that the photo caption needed to be corrected.  Easy peasy, no?

      Yes exactly. I was just a bit bugged because HP are bringing in people to change our hubs but they can't spot stuff like this. Yes we all make mistakes so not dissing the author, congrats to him on HOTD :-)

   I think we all should be ready to give other authors a friendly heads up for stuff like this. It's an easy mistake to make. I have my daughter proof read things just because I'm prone to stupid error myself. I know better but somehow I'm at times blind to them.

   Its title is what a person would type into a search engine if they were a beginner at selling their photography.  I can only speak for myself, but that's very close to the phrasing I would enter if I wanted to find pages specifically designed for a complete novice. 
   
   SEO'd titles sometimes don't read perfectly, but you could offset "for Beginners" with a pipe | or comma. 
   
   I recently wrote one called "Mollweide's Formula Proof | Triangle Trigonometry" which I know reads awkwardly and would sound better as "Proof of Mollweide's Formula" but when people use google they tend to omit small words.  Sometimes it's good to capitalize on that.

      Yes, that makes sense. It bothered me b/c in actuality it reads How to sell photography (the photography itself is made for beginners.) IDK... at least that's how it reads to me. But like you and Luis said, it is clear enough in its intent.
