Several followers have let me know via email and otherwise, that they are unable to post a comment on my new hub! One even said that I could copy and paste her comment via email into my hub, which I tried and all it does is take me back to the top of my hub. Please HP Team help me with this serious problem, as I do not want my hub to go into oblivion here! When I go into edit mode, the comments section is grayed-out in capsules, so that may be the issue but I have no clue as to how to fix it. I clicked on it to no avail. I appreciate all those who have attempted to comment and your comments mean the world to me.
Faith, I haven't read your new hub yet, but I just went into it to see if the comments section was there and it is. Your hub is very long, but at the end of it is a bunch of gibberish I don't understand. It seems to be a part of your hub as your attempt to wish Happy New Year to several cultures in their language. Perhaps that's the problem? There's not a few but a whoooooole bunch. Does American-based HP see that as infiltration?
Yes, the comment section is there and one can even type a comment but it is does not take and jumps everyone back up to the top of the hub. In edit mode the comment capsule does not look like it is activated. I will see what I can do or try at least. Thanks!
I deleted that long section about Happy New Year to all in other languages. And did a test on the comment. It is doing like it was in allowing one to type a comment, but when one hits posts, it just jumps to the top of the hub page? So, frustrating.
Patience Faith, it is probably just another change to wait shortly through.
Thanks, Kevin, I just went back into edit mode, and I am sure I know what the problem is, to the right where it states Adding Content Capsules, all are blue, except the Comments capsule is grayed-out, as if it is not activated. I tried to click on it to no avail to activate it? Do you know what is the email to contact hubpages?
What that means Faith is that is it is automatically already included in all of the Hubs and you cannot add another one. Sorry to spoil your solution.
Oh, thanks, Kevin, but why are the others Content Capsules showing up in blue though?
I read it wrong - I saw Content as Comment. Sorry again. The others are blue because you can add more than one of them.
Thank you, Kevin. That makes sense. Well, hopefully, it will be remedied shortly. Have a peaceful night.
Thanks for reporting this, Faith. I will file a report with engineering and provide an update as soon as I have one.
Oh, thank you so much, Marina, as it is truly upsetting that those who are attempting to comment cannot comment! Under the edit mode in the hub, over to the right where it states Content Capsules, all capsules are stated in blue, but the comments one is gray, as if it is not activated. I tried to click on it to no avail.
Thank you for the additional details. That's very helpful and I'll pass the info along to engineering. Again, thanks for your continued patience as this gets resolved.
maybe it is one of the HP glitch, have you contact HP team already
Yes, it was a glitch and comments are now able to be left, thank goidness!. HP is experiencing several glitches here of late, but they try to address them as quickly as they are able.
Hi Victoria, I clicked on comments under edit mode and nothing happens? It is just grayed-out, so that must be the issue, but I do not know how to get it going so that comments may be left.
Just on the new hub? It sounds like there are quite a number of issues going on today. Maybe it is some glitch that will fix itself?
Yes, just on the new one, which is bad for it will mess up the score and it is already dropping, and I am sure my profile score will too, which is not fair.
This might be related to a new bug that appends a # to the URL, which forces it to the top of the page. This # problem is affecting other things too, such as the stats in hubs as I reported here:
http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/128067
Thank you so much, Glenn, yes, I know of the glitches, and I guess this is another major one! Now, my new hub which is plummenting in score due to this issue when it was high in score, so that means, I am sure my profile score will drop too, because of these issues, which is not fair. Oh, well, such is life. I should have listened to my instinct and waited to publish sometime next week!
It says under Content Capsules: Text capsules, and then all of the other capsules, but the comments one is colored in gray not blue like the others. Wonder if I should unpublish? It has been featured and started out with a high score and now is dropping fast due to these issues.
I would not unpublish the Hub. It is not your fault and you cannot do anything.
If you mean the Comment Capsule - NO - you delete all of your previous comments. You can edit the capsule and check a 'Do not show' box until it is fixed, if you want.
Yes, it is not my fault. I will just leave it be. Thanks for all of your support, Kevin.
You are welcome Faith. I watch my Hubs bounce up and down often and the only time that I unpublish them is when I a editing/updating the entire Hub.
HOORAY!!! It is now fixed and people are able to comment now. Whew ...
Have you seen any of the "missing" comments from yesterday yet?
Oh, everyone is commenting away! They are so supportive in that they all have returned to comment again. What a blessing to belong to such a supportive community. Hugs to you, Kevin
This was a big problem last evening. I left a long comment on another Hub, and as soon as I tried to submit, I was taken to the top of the Hub. After three attempts, I quit. I don't think this problem is just with your Hub, Faith. Several Hubbers were on Facebook last night talking about it.
I've been away all day, but I'm going to get brave now and see if I can comment on your Hub.
Thank you so much dear Mary. You are so kind in attempting to comment. I knew I should have waited until the first of the week before publishing. Oh well ... hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend. Hugs
I tried again just a few minutes ago, Theresa, to no avail. The hub is a loving tribute to your fellow hubbers.
Thank you for trying, dear Phyllis. You are so kind. Well, as long as it can be read and known how much I appreciate all of the wonderful writers here, including you, then that is all that really matters. I have been remiss in my publishibg due to life circumstances, but I was able to read all the wonderful writings and so I wanted to show my appreciation in some small way to possibly encourage those to continue writing memorable writes. Hugs
Phyllis, I just noticed that when I tried to do it now it worked as long as I clicked the follow box underneath, maybe thats the key?
Same here, I just tried writing a comment on someones hub and it just bounces out still, I will try again tomorrow.
Our engineers just deployed a fix. Please let us know if you continue to experience problems with commenting. Thanks for your patience, all!
Faith, I just tried to comment on your Hub again, and it just bounces to the top. I commented on the HOTD, and it was fine. I have bookmarked your Hub because I can see you spent a lot of time on that one. BTW: thanks for the mention. You wrote a wonderful tribute to the writers here on HP! I'll try again tomorrow.
Hi mary615, can you please try again? A fix was just deployed and it would be good to know whether there's still a problem with commenting on certain Hubs. Thanks!
Thank you so much. Hopefully it works now. I will try to check.
Faith's comment section seems to be working fine now. I just commented, and saw 17 others were able to comment. I'm going now to the other one I could not comment on; will let you know.
The problem seems to be OK now. I was able to comment on the other Hub that I could not comment on earlier.
Oh, bless you, dear Mary! It seems to be fixed now as people are now able to comment. Thank goodness!
I appreciate you so much. Hugs and love always
Yes, thank you so much, Marina, the problem is fixed and I have received an overwhelming amount of comments. So, all is well!

I am not looking to name names here as this happens quite a lot on Hubpages, but can someone please clarify whether or not it is against the rules for a Hubber to come to your hub, leave a comment and then include a link to one of their own hubs as a part of that comment. I know it says under each...

Since this feature was deleted, HP staff have told us that this would be reinstated. It does not matter to all of us, but I know that in my case the readers find it very helpful. A former staff member told me last year that this would become a reality in June of 2021. That did not happen. If it is...

I have been getting one or two questions every day in my email through the new "contact the author" feature. The questions have been very important; almost always they are questions/details that can help other readers.Since these readers are sending emails instead of leaving the...

In the past, from my profile page, in the hubtivity section, I could click "this comment" to go directly to the comment I previously posted on someone's Hub. Doesn't seem to be working now. Instead, I just get landed at the top of the destination Hub.It's a funny sensation. I keep waiting...

If I view my account's Comments page, it's easy to view, approve and respond to unapproved comments. However, if I go to a new comment in one of my hubs and click Approve, I cannot reply to it directly on the comment. Instead, I have to go to my main Comments page and find the now approved comment...
