Ignore my hubscore: Who else here are in the same page with me?

   so I joined 3 or 4 weeks and I've published 8hubs already.. I really don't understand how overall hubscore fluctuates and drop and continue dropping which I know I am not the only one who is confused about this..
   
   but on the positive side,I don't reakky fret about it..I love to write and I'm here coz I want to write..yes my score is an additional confidence booster but I don't take it as anything major.

            Yes write more hubs, the green topics, related to health, recipes, money, go green, yr traffic will shoot up

   Yes, the hubs and profile scores are really a good motivation for us to write. I tried to ignore them too and think positively that this is still the best site I am in.

      my overall experience here was great Ms. Thelma Alberts..And maybe one day my hubscore will go up eventually..ignoring it makes it easier for me to concentrate on things I want to write about

   As hub scores are calculated on an algorithm, I don't worry about them.  I find they go up and down depending on a number of things, traffic and interaction being two of them.  You've been here a short time.  Keep writing and interacting on the forums. Concentrate on good quality content and don't worry abut the scores too much.

      yes you got that right.....it is not really my major concern...I just write because I love doing it...well I know to myself I am not really good at it though,but I will keep on doing what I love and be better at this...thanks for inspiring Michael-Milec.

   As a new writer here (or even for the not-so-new) Please Don't fall into the very real human trap of getting wound up out of the frustration of not knowing or understanding all about any scores here. If you do worry, then the next step will be one of beating your intelligence, confidence & yourself up.
   
   In saying that, I'm also mindful that 6 years ago I (and others) was asking the same questions as you and many others are today. I think that very point along with the 6 year timespan of still not providing a fully transparent & logical explanation to intelligent writers just highlights HR management shortcomings and reflects squarely on HP rather than individual writers. They simply choose Not to... end of story!
   
   Personally, I still find that style of HR quite insulting and certainly Not a reflection on a writer's ability etc. when 'measured' by a non human process... In this particular aspect of HP's process they have allocated the day to day scoring of human writers to an algorithm, they (algorithms) have extremely bland, impossibly boring personalities and take absolutely no interest in how people feel or think.
   
   That said, (the bit that winds me up) an algorithm is designed and programmed by a human, so therefore does exactly what that human asks of them.
   Instead of getting demotivated by this practice I find it best to totally ignore the 'machine' and focus my scorn and frustration upon the personality and management abilities of the programmer! 
   Hope this makes sense and helps to allay any concerns you have about yourself...
   Do your best, that's the best you can do ~ To any human on this planet that should never be criticized or frowned upon!  After all, in this modern fast paced, changing world even an algorithm is going to be flawed after 2 years of operation

      yes hubs are scored individually..you can look at it ,go to My Account..you'll find there your stats ..and we have overall hubscore as an author..but just like what our fellow hubbers say,and its what I'm doing too is too ignore it.....

   Hubscore really means nothing as far as I can tell. Keep writing and publishing and the score will take care of itself.

      Actually, that's not entirely true.  It means nothing in terms of earnings, but it definitely is a signal from the team that tells you where your work stands on their scale of 0 to 100 on any given hub.  If you read the learning center, you will find a section that discusses these scores and what they mean, but basically you should shoot for a hub score of 70 or above on any article you write.
      
      When it comes to hubber score, you need to keep that score at 85 or above or any link you have in your articles will become "no follow", which means they will be useless.
      
      The standards for hub scores are clearly listed, and they give you guidelines right on the editing page in the upper right hand corner to show you what you should do.
      
      The catch is that you can have a hub score on a given article that meets or exceeds all requirements, but it still may not earn a dime!  It's a very strange system, to say the least!

         thanks TIMETRAVELER2..you're advice is noted..will definitely check on it...but when it comes to stay on the 85 range as a hubber score it is definitely a goal to work on to..and I am positive I will get it...I am not a native speaker nor a professional writer but this is my passion and I'm working hard to be better at it..I always believe that nothing is unattainable.
         
         but for now as a newbie here,,I don't want the scoring system get into my head,,I focus on my writing..

            I will tell you that your English is quite good for a second language speaker, so you should do well here.  I do advise you to take the time to read the info in the learning center as it will save you a lot of reworking later.  I made that mistake years ago and paid dearly for it.
            
            It's great to have a love of writing, but it is also great to be financially rewarded for it.  Most of us here love to write, and while some, like me, did not come here to earn, I can tell you that it really feels good to have someone pay me once in awhile for all of my efforts.

    Although I've been publishing on HubPages for several months, I somehow missed the importance of the hubber score.  For me, it's having the follow links that help boost other content I promote on the web.  Now that I know 85 is the key number, it will be my goal.  But I can certainly understand how that number would not be significant for many hubbers.

       Mine fluctuates between 84 and 86. It is causing my website to go up and down in the search. Before they lowered so many scores, I never had to worry.

       I guess the key is to write more hubs and increasing it's quality everytims..scores will follow...thats what I've learned from this forum...

          The trouble is that it doesn't always work. I've noticed though that commenting on other hubs seems to help up the score. Many of the people will comment back. Finding the time for all of this is the problem.

    Looks like HP is seriously picking on my other account. First time it's been below 90 since the profile score revamp. I am saddened and once again feeling unloved. Oh well, at least my Sunday traffic wasn't that bad (relatively speaking).

       There was a period a few weeks ago when all my hub scores dropped, probably an average of 10-15 points.  This then reflected (I presume) on the hubber score, which also dropped about the same. 
       
       Then scores began to rise and now the hubber score is 100 and has been for days.  Longest I've ever seen it that high.

          Well, being as I noted the low score, decided there was nothing I could do that hadn't already been done, and sat back to wait, I doubt that an article would do much good. 
          
          I HAD updated most of my hubs a while before, trying to make them more mobile friendly, but that's it.  That, and make a nuisance of myself on the forums!

       same here Stacey, I started this forum I was on my 75 now I dropped to 72..well as long as HP allows me to stay it really not a big thing for me...I'm glad that as early as this I know how scoring works..its more on the traffic they said..

    I have read your hubs (just now), and they are very well written. I especially liked the one about dealing with the loss of a loved one. I too am mystified at times (actually almost ALL of the time) by the fluctuation of hub scores, how my hubs are evaluated, and what my hubber score means.
    
    The bottom line is this--if you enjoy writing and are gaining pleasure from the work you are doing, keep going. Don't worry about the score.
    
    You write very well. The only thing I can offer in a way of offering suggestions is that your hubs are rather brief. Think about ways in which to expand--write more, add photos, etc. But please--don't stop writing.

       thanks carb diva...I am actually writing on my next hub and I make sure its a bit better this time..I only get to use a computer once a week coz I don't have one ..and when it comes to pictures I don't have my own..so I'm still discovering new ways and sites that has free and quality photos

          You can also use photos from Pixabay and those from Wikipedia with a license for free use. Try the Library of Congress and other government sites. Many of these are in the public domain.
