         I think there is some truth in the squeaky wheel gets the oil. The two societies that are forming in the US is the result of a class system arising because of the income inequality. We hear constantly from one side to work harder and the American dream is available to you. And on the other side we see lessening evidence of this being a truth. As more people fall on despair due to the lack of upward mobility between the classes, we may see a change farther away from a democratic/republic and closer to socialism as a result. The new problem will be the other American dream of something for nothing.

            The biggest deception being played on the most of us is the idea of meritocracy, when plutocracy is what it is all about. It has been documented that over the last few years, we have had less social mobility in this society. The best way to become wealthy is to have a daddy and mommy that are already.
            
            But if you told people that,  they would storm "the Bastille". Knowing that there are a lot more of us than them, the plutocrat is keenly aware that he must be clever promoting myths that keep him on top and relatively undisturbed while the rest of us fight over crumbs that they throw to the insolent rabble every now and then.
            
            They wish to distract me with God, Guns and Gays while the matters that affect our day to day lives they continue to control. They know that the "Wizard of Oz" is not so all imposing once the curtain is drawn back. They must keep the illusion alive to stay in control and they will do anything to accomplish this.
