The info you and Rob supplied is proof positive that those scores the team give people have no effect on success.  That should be good news for everybody who writes here and worries so much about them.  Congrats to both of you.  I'll be hitting 500,000 within the week, but it's been a long, hard crawl for me.  Ads are doing really well recently, too.

lobobrandonposted 7 years agoin reply to this

Cool. And yes the scores are pointless. My scores were higher when I had a level of 6 or was it 7 (the highest) for comments. But when my level went down to 0 (not many new comments a year) my score dropped. At least that's what I noticed. Traffic has nothing to do with the score. My score was 94 or so when my traffic was peanuts.

I agree, some of the lower scoring hubs pull in the most traffic. I never pay attention to those numbers.

My traffic is unbelievable right now but I'm really fascinated at the kind of traffic you get with so few hubs. Same thing here. My traffic is MASSIVELY seasonal and I get payout only once over several months during the cold time of year, but on Sunday I hit 5900 views in one day. Can't discuss earnings on here, but just sayin, I'm happy with the results this year. It is entirely from Hubpages moving the best articles to niche sites (suprises me a litttle, you said they hadn't moved you to niche sites) yet you still get a LOT of traffic. Wait till you are moved to the niche sites, your traffic will triple, at least. I've seen older posts and forums on here about the possibility of full time job, good income. Most were pretty set on being out the realm of possibility. After seeing some of the traffic numbers for people lately, and how well I do, it seems like minimal effort to just write about some stuff.

Hey Rob, 2 of my hubs are on the niche sites. Not my Tomato hubs though, unfortunately as it's tomato growing season right now. Dengarden was created just before tomato season and hence my traffic was below the benchmark for that niche site. Another of my hubs, on termite treatment had high traffic and was chosen though. Right now one of my tomato hubs is getting more traffic than the termite hub and it's still on the HP domain.

Also, dengarden is doing pretty good, so when my hub is moved there I can't begin to imagine the traffic hehe. But I hope I don't have to wait until next year for this to happen. Just emailed Robin to check it out, let's see.

Ya, you should do pretty good. They emailed before and said I should edit and try to improve some of the hubs that haven't been moved so then has a better chance to. I think I joined in 2010 so it took awhile to get going

Yup that's what I heard too. So I edited my "Watering tomatoes" hub and I think it's darn good lol. Just got a comment with a suggestion of another thing to do. Something I never really thought of. Reminded me why I write hubs in the first place. Gonna have to edit the hub and add another paragraph once I'm done with my exams.

Nice job to everyone's accomplishments. I don't know about anybody else but the last 3-4 months have been extremely good. For example it took me 11 months to get to my first 10,000 views and now I get that every 4-5 days.

I imagine there are several hubbers who get well over 10,000 views per day now.

Thanks Susana and Janis. And Krzysztof that's awesome! Is it distributed among many hubs or is there one that's doing much better than the rest?

    1. Chriswillman90 profile image91
Chriswillman90posted 7 years agoin reply to this

It's close to the 80-20 rule but I have a good dozen that are doing very well while the rest collect a few views here and there.

I imagine that's generally the case for many writers unless they're SEO geniuses or very well known.

I don't really know. I can't say because some hubs were deleted and they counted to the total volume. After being deleted the stats are deleted as well.

Have you noticed dramatically higher earnings for those articles since moving them?  It's always sort of in the back of my mind as something I ought to do eventually.

            1. lobobrandon profile image90
lobobrandonposted 7 years agoin reply to this

Difficult to say. I was making some sales here via Amazon, but I just took the whole hub and added it to another page of mine on the website to make it a complete guide for example. And that page now ranks in a very similar position as it did here on Hub Pages. But I guess I earn more from it now.

EDIT: I need to add that the hubs I moved were put on a niche site that had more content. On their own I don't think they would do well at all.

Haha. I am happy keeping the rest of my hubs here as they are doing well and I don't want to start whole new sites for them. Plus the niches are doing good IMO.

Probably if you make your titles more SEO friendly, just something people are actually typing in, you should do well once you get a bit of traffic as your hubs have good Pinterest potential. You just need to get some eyes on it to get things rolling.

The replies on this thread are interesting to see. I have less than 30 hubs (mostly written years ago) and have done little with Hubpages since. I glance at the numbers occasionally and more so in the peak season (Swimming pool hubs) and am amazed at how well others are doing. I'm getting 100,000+ views/mo. That's awesome and inspirational as well. Think about this before you write your next article... Most web searches contain DYI stuff and how to save money. Why do you think I'm 1st page, 1st slot on google when someone types "pool green", or "cloudy pool". Google finds millions of articles about that, and I get first page. That's one Hell of a feat! Just sayin.., Authors like electricians, auto mechanics, home repair, etc... are going to bring in a LOT of traffic.  See, the majority of people are like me.. CHEAP! So if someone can save 40 or 50 bucks by looking it up and doing it themselves, they're going to!  lobobrandon, Your Tomato articles are something that many people would search for. That's why your traffic is good! It's seems like this is probably worth it to me to start writing  again. especially since they started the niche sites. Big difference

    1. lobobrandon profile image90
lobobrandonposted 7 years agoin reply to this

Exactly Rob. My tomato hubs are doing well without being on the niche sites. I can't wait for them to get pushed there. It was out of season when the garden niche was started and I was getting around 50 visits a day to one of them, now it's a lot better since it's tomato growing season. Another of my hubs is right on the top and doing better though. Just as you say cloudy pool or something on those lines I rank for something I never imagined I could rank for, that too #1 let alone page 1.

Ya, I think you'll get a huge boost in traffic once you get moved to niche site. But hey man, keep writing, I'm going to as well, cuz i'm doing pretty good on here! And so are you!
