It would be very helpful, and much less frustrating, if all those tasked with making edits, AND the programming of the edit-bots were all on the same page!!

I have lost count of how many times there have been contrary edits made, mostly to titles of my articles and capsule headings.

In some cases, prepositions and articles have been capitalized; in other cases, removed from capitalization.  This is true regardless of whether it was a 2 or 3 letter word!

I am confused and frustrated by this inconsistency, and no matter which way I go, the article always seems to be subject to an edit to 'correct' these 'errors.'

In my days in school, these  "connector" words were not capitalized within a title; only the main words in the title, e.g., "Beans for Fun and Profit"  or "Washing Cars: a Summary of Methods" would be correct.

The only time such words were to be capitalized was if they began a sentence, or appeared first in the title.

Now, the rules seem to have changed, and there seems to be no agreement on how to apply said changes!

This is the tool which HubPages use https://capitalizemytitle.com/ as standard I believe.  I use it and find it very helpful.

Sally, thank you for that suggestion. Recently, I took care about these titles. But, my previous titles are still with small letters. I will change them now onwards.

You are welcome Venkatachari M.  I was told by staff that they used this tool so I figure it best to use it myself and save wasted time later.

I agree with you  DzyMsLizzy !
It is all very confusing and frustrating. Though I keep on updating my articles so that they are relevant and up to the standards set by HP, editing now has become a challenge. The hubs that have been doing well since 4 to 5 years are also not spared and unfeatured without any specific reason.
All the enthusiasm to write something new gets vanished due to frequent changes.

Dzy, out of your two examples above, the capitalization in the first title is 100% correct. But, in the second one, you should use "A" capital letter instead of small "a" to make it "A Summary of Methods".

But, overall, I agree with you that it has become more confusing and hard now to find out what the HP Team wants from us.

Hi, I agree. It's happened to me too. More then once now and after a basic edit another editor went in and made other edits changing some of the exact changes. I thought I had it figured out then it changes again. I am so confussed.

Me too, ive noticed now they are editing ' to " as well, seems a definite waste of time to go back and correct them to be the same as they will just be changed by whomever is editing at the time.
I spent ages making corrections then noticed it had had a new change to it, but Ive definitely noticed the capitilaztion thing. Ive had an it changed to It in a title but if I do it, its changed lol

I agree. It's trial and error on HP. Sometimes I capitalise a word that really should be in lower-case then the articke finally gets featured.
