I am new to hubpages and have written a couple of hubs. I would really like your critical eye and some tips or possitive reviews. http://hubpages.com/profile/roadlady
You will get more people looking at your hub if you post it in the extreme hub makeover forum.
I think they look rather good. With a little work I am sure your sites can be ranked on the first page on google as they are unique but still information people will want. Great job so far. Look into backlinking and SEO
Roadlady, your hubs are great! Good information, aesthetically pleasing, well laid out.
BUT...no one is searching for your keywords. Okay, so 22 people last month searched for "button flowers". But if one of those 22 people clicked on an AdSense ad, you would get a small percentage of approximately $.05.
I do like your writing and all. But if you're here to make money, you will need to learn how to do keyword research. Not all of my hubs are intended to make money. Some I just do on subjects I'm passionate about. But I equal those with more commercial hubs.
Ditto what Thranax said. Go into the keyword tool and put in one or more keywords or key phrases and search for the results. In the upper right corner, change Match Type from Broad to Exact. In the Show/Hide Columns, select "Hide Global Monthly Search Volume" and "Show Estimated Avg. CPC". Then take a look at your results.
I look for high CPC ($1.00+), decent search volume (1,000+) and some wiggle room in the competition.
Well, I don't know much about what you wrote about (but the hubs layout seemed ok).
About keyword research..well this is the ad sense average PPC keyword list.
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
You place in the keywords you plan on writing about and it will tell you the average price of the click.
Thats at least a first step. There are many other helpful things you can do out there.

My traffic is starting to fall off in one of my hubs "How to host a successful yard sale". Any hints or tips as to how I can keep this from happening?
Your initial traffic was probably from other Hubbers. Once we've all checked it out, you'll get a lull until Google and the other search engines wake up to your work. Then you'll gradually get outside traffic, which is the traffic you really want, because they click on ads!
Most people don't get much outside traffic (or earnings) until three or four months after they've joined here, so don't get discouraged. Just keep writing Hubs, and learning more about Hubbing.
By the way, Lrohner is right about all that keyword stuff, but I'm not sure you're ready for that. I started out writing on things I enjoyed writing about, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I'm sure if I'd researched keywords I wouldn't be writing about dancing - but if I felt obliged to write about high-paying subjects I didn't care for, I probably wouldn't still be here.
I love your exotic pets hub. I'm a huge animal lover and always wanted a pet that wasn't ordinary. I think you're doing great!
Thanks for all the really great advise. I have just written my 3rd hub and would like your tips and comments, please. http://hubpages.com/hub/Tips-for-Choosi … c-Pet?done

I've read a lot about the importance of doing keyword research, but then you also get the impression that to really do that research properly can take a long time unless you get lucky early on or really know what you are doing. So I wonder, with some people pumping out huge amounts of hubs, are...

There are tons of hubs on keyword selection and the various tools one could use to make the process easier. But, like most things 'net - they are mostly copies of copies of copies or poorly strewn together theories by intermediate writer-marketers ..So I ask... what was truly masterful, what made...

Can anyone help me figure out how to best optimize my hubs? I have several that have scores of 90 and above but they hardly get any views...I'm not sure how I could improve that. Even ones that have been changed by Hubpages' editors still don't get much traffic. Is it just the titles that I should...

My daily earnings have dropped drastically -- WHY? Is it because HP has pulled ads on my hubs due to the "unfeatured" hubs, which are mostly poems? Are poems not worthy of being featured and getting daily earnings? And WHY does HP decide what should or should not be featured?...
