This morning I hit 200 fans & hopefully still counting, which is a huge encouragment to me. I want to take a moment & let everyone know how grateful I am.
THANK YOU to everyone who has read and/or commented on any of my Hubs. I appreciate the affirmation very much.
I love to write & have been doing so since I was eleven or twelve, mostly for myself. Writing in isolation means that one never really knows if they are any good. Emotionally speaking, it has been extremely rewarding to read positive input & feedback about my efforts at the craft of writing.
I began posting in early September, so I am a relative newbie. I have learned much about how HubPages works from so many nice folks who I only know electronically.
I am always in learning mode & think I am reasonably intelligent, but there are a few things about HubPages that are something of a mystery to me.
HubMob & HubNuggets, for example. How does one get involved with them? Do they wait for an invitation to write one or just find out the week's topic & jump in feet first?
Keywords. Okay, I have studied everything I can & even tried using the Google AdWords Keyword Tool, but I think I am still groping around in the dark. If that is the norm, okay. BUT, if there is some trick, technique or idea I haven't explored yet I'd like to know. If someone in the know could take a peek at a couple of my Hubs & give me a thumb's up or some pointers on how to improve tags/keyword selection, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Hubscore. It goes up & down like a yo-yo in the low nineties. I have read the helps info & a couple Hubs about it, but I can't get my brain wrapped around the whys & wherefores of it. Again, if that's the norm, fine. BUT, if I am missing something, will someone please let me know.
THANK YOU for this forum. And if you have read this far, THANK YOU for doing so. Be blessed & encouraged in all your writing efforts here & elsewhere.
Ken, congrats on your 200th fan, I just reached 100 recently and was thrilled. I enjoy every one of my fans and their comments. HP has been great over the past 4 months!
Hi! I am also new here, congratulations you have many fans already!
I wouldn't worry about your hubscore too much as it does not really affect anything unless it drops below 75.
There are two components to "keywords."
One is the amount of people searching for a term and the other is the amount of people writing about a given term or keyword and competing for traffic.
You seem to have a lot of religious hubs. This - as I found out myself having written a couple recently - is an extremely competitive field.
There is an awful lot of money in persuading people to believe in a god. And people who do believe are easily persuaded to believe almost anything else, so there is great value for the establishment getting people to believe in god so they can then control them in other ways and sell them all sorts of other ideas and products. Huge amounts of money are involved in religion and it is closely tied to politics.
Therefore this is very, very competitive and I doubt you will rank in the search engines very well for your chosen keywords - which means finding traffic from other sources.
Christian forums, and other places of discussion, maybe a few social networking sites, but I would give up on attracting search engine traffic unless you are prepared to invest some time and money in creating a lot of backlinks to your work.
Congrats on 200 fans! That is a pretty big mile stone and should go a long way towards helping you getting your writing noticed
Congrats!!! I wish I can even reach 100 fans and I'd be happy
Just focus on writing stuff that is fun to read, or good to learn from and fans will come. Find stuff you enjoy reading here and comment and you will both be inspired by what you can learn as well as getting attention to your own works from your fellow hubbers! I do not go out fanning folks, that does not seem to work but I do go looking for stuff to read and comment on and that sometimes means I fan someone and sometimes that means they come and fan me! Writing a new hub can also lead to a new fan assuming its a good one!

How can I increase or influence my CPM earnings in the Hubpages Ad Program?
by EmpressFelicity 13 years ago
...guess what? It seems that unless I'm missing something, you now need to have an AdWords account to get the keyword tool to show the estimated average CPC for a keyword/phrase. If you don't have an AdWords account, you can *sort* by CPC, but you can't actually view the CPC column any...

Any tips for attaching tags to your hub?I'm trying to ascertain the best method for applying tags to my hubs. Right now I'm just typing in random words that are related to my topics, but I know this is a better way.

Hi,I have been a member of Hubpages for a while. I have a bunch of hubs, published on various accounts, and since the Google slap, have noticed that my hub views, which weren't all that great before, have now dropped to almost nothing. On average, I seem to be getting about 1/2 a view a day per...

I have heard conflicting reports regarding Google Adwords Keyword Tool. I remember some people saying it isn't updated anymore. So I'm asking here, is it up to date? Is it still useful? I suppose it could still be useful even if it isn't completely up to date.

I received notification today that this is my 11th Hubbiversary. Seems hard to believe. I remember when I first joined HP. I posted mostly poetry at the time. I was always thrilled each time I was notified of new followers. Oooh - I have five followers! Twenty! Thirty! I was so green. With the help...
