      Did that in one of my hubs but its tad longer than two paragraphs just recently published it in two parts,
      
      It is titled, "The Santa Suit"
      
      I'd post the link for your convenience but, and even though it is directly related to the thread, I'm sure the snipper police will be here soon.
      
      So if you are interested in reading it you will have to play follow the profile.
      
      (BTW other than the normal ADsense stuff it is noncommercialized.)

   My mother and I had set the christmas tree and the crib just below. We were waiting for my father who was a sailor whose ship, by chance, happened to be moored at the port of Lisbon for the whole Christmas holiday.
   From the kitchen, the smell of boiling cod (turkey would be the 25th at noon) was getting to the living room.
   My older brother was not there with us. He had just left to go abroad as the war in Africa started in 1961.
   Finally my father arrived.
   He had that red fireman truck I've been wishing for so long.
   I was 8. It was one of the few Christmas holidays my father spent with us.

   In the 1980s when I was a child, every year I have to wait for Santas present for me, when I was eight after going to the church the family is together and I have received my first guitar,
   
   I thank the LORD that every Christmas it is awesome for me, as the family is together going to the church, relatives and the food is nice too, delicacies and pork, beef stew made in Asian sauce.
   
   I spend the day going to my godparents house and I will have many presents too. I enjoy the Christmas lights in the village and my relatives and family will be together.

      It felt like I was there. Reminds me of Christmases past when I was a little girl and we normally would go to my long late great grand parents to cheer them up with songs and childhood banter. It was lovely!

   Our very small community has a tradition of Santa handing out a goody bag to children gathered at the fire hall.  As a volunteer fireman, my husband was Santa for years.  Santa would travel through town on top of the fire truck with the siren going to let the kids know to come to see him at the fire hall.  When my kids were young I would race outside to get pictures of him on top of the fire truck and then race my kids over to the fire hall where they would sit on their dads knee.
   
   Last year his one year old grandson sat on Grandpa/Santa's knee for the first and last time.  My husband died this year at 47 years old and Santa will be missed by many.  I plan to gather my pictures and create a little personal story book for my grandson to remember our special Santa.  You can see his picture in my hub on dealing with death and dying by living happily.  Not sure if I am allowed to link it here.  Cherish your special moments as they are only temporary and be happy.

      Oh, it is so sad to hear that Santa died (the children will miss him) and even more sad to learn that your husband was Santa and you have a grandson that was just beginning to enjoy the tradition. How sad.
      
      I was thinking about my grand parents and great grand parents this morning. It is just like the holiday season to invoke such wonderful memories and yet they make us sad. Thanks, we should cheris and enjoy whatever we can with others because it never really lasts forever. I will check out your photos.

   dont' have a specific christmas in mind, but will always remember what my grandfather used to do ( and he usually got me to help).  It's a little honery but we always had fun and a good laugh.  He would always buy those huge 5 lb. boxes of candy and a couple of boxes of chocolate covered cherries.  Then him and I would get together when no one else was around and we would take his pocket knife and cut holes in the bottom of the candy and scrap all the gooey stuff out and put the empty shell back in the box.  We finally got figured out after a couple of years, but will never forget the fun we had together.
