      Well it doesn't look like she started it, he called her "pathetic" to start the whole thing going. However she did make comments to others that were definitely against policy. Sounds like this guy baited her in one forum, then trolled and reported her on a separate forum pretty childish really.

         I agree it reads like she was baited...he seemed to be trying to get a rise out of her. Her comments I also think were totally against policy...OTT but I suppose the defence of provocation can be applied here!

      reporting someone because you feel insulted is childish. But the rules are clear, if you break them, and get reported....3 days no forum. It is someones paycheck. Everyone needs to grow up a little.

            Yeah...I get pissed off with some people too but I'm too afraid to get banned so I don't bother...what I don't get is why her antagoniser wasn't banned as well or both their statements simply... snipped.
            I'm all for the rules but fair is far...Oh well....

               she was bigger. to get banned, you need to be reported. hp hq isnt arbitrarily killing people off. if a person is reported, its looked into. im sure when the offense breaks the “rules” its dealt with. no reporting=no banning.

      She sent me an email a little while ago telling me that she was no longer allowed to make any posts in the forums. 
      That sounds like she was banned to me.

      It seems so, more important question, why should I care? Right or wrong if I insult someone I expect to be banned temporarily so I can cool down and maybe do something productive like write a hub! I doubt its a forever ban so why should I care? The forums are not where we make our money here assuming that is why we write here.

   She spoke her mind to a few of the bible thumpers this morning, then they in turn came back at her.  The worst part was that one of them posted a thread demanding her ban, when in many ways he is the one that started the whole thing.  It's bullshit either way, but I just don't understand why she is the only one that got pinched for it.

    I honestly do not believe she should have been banned it was not necessary. The other hubber who also made comment should have been banned as well for creating a thread that was quite unprofessional. If you ban one then both should be banned, I don't know what has been happening lately but it has became very depressing.

             I have never heard of her being derogatory or saying anything out of context before so I would say it is her first offense. I sometimes feel the same way she does and you get to the point when you want to say enough is enough. Enough bickering, backlashing, brow beating ***geesh*** we are all adults.

    I have a suggestion for a new feature.  Angry hubbers should be allowed to buy "indulgences".  You could engage in prohibited activities if you made a charitable contribution to certain organizations.

    They were both out of order....I think!
    I don't think she should have been banned...but snipped OR they both should have been banned not just one.

       I don't know, she said that she didn't get an email or anything from the HubTeam about it.  She just gets a message telling her that she is not allowed to make any posts in the forums when she hits the Post button. 
       
       So I have no idea how long it's for.

    I havent been reading the threads in question, but she did use the big 'C' word in a thread earlier..... I guess that the big 'C' would be enough to get anyone banned no matter what the context.

    I think I can put my humble opinion on a table too. First: I am sure administration did not have a choise: WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO INSULT EACH OTHER. PERIOD. We all here with different backgrounds and experiences and opinions and we have to learn to respect that and to ARGUE not INSULT. We can share our opinions, but without putting down the other side.You can laugh at somebody, but you cannot degrade, even if somebody is not right, he/she will learn. That's what life experience is about. People change their beliefs and opinions. If I say something no one likes and everybody will be shouting at me with F* words and calling me names just because they feel like it , it's not going to be free speech,it's going to be free chaos, something no one wants to be in, I am sure.
    Second: To snip somebody's opinions is like exercise the same unnecessary control and manipulation we all hate and I am sure HUBPAGES are above that.
    Third and the last: There are lots of stupid, reckless,plain dumb, unconsiderate, lightheaded people around and if we cannot tolerate them and deal with them and live among them calmly and reasonably,too bad, that just shows our immaturity and instability and nothing else.

    After reading the posts linked to SaS banning I would have to say that I agree. S/he crossed a line with a personal attack on someones character rather than engaging in a debate on the subject of the thread.
    I think it would benefit all of us to remember that you can debate an idea without allowing it to turn into a verbal brawl!

    Just like TV, radio, movies, etc., if you don't like it, don't read it or don't watch it.  No one has a gun to their head making them read anything in the forums or making them reply.  If you don't read posts you won't get bent out of shape.  A little common sense goes a long way!  No pun intended.
