I see I got 30 Hubber Points for getting a "signup".  How do those figure into my Hubbish life? I can't find an answer to that in any of the forums I've read.

It shows how active you are on hubpages, largely. Also, your links in your hub will not be do-follow if your score is below 75, if that makes any sense to you (mostly relevant only for those who use Hubpages for backlinking purposes to their other websites).

If you start posting hubs and participating in the forums, your score should shoot up pretty rapidly, by the way.

Each hub has a HubScore and that there in your profile avatar is what's known as the Author Score or HubberScore.

It used to start at 0 but nowadays it starts at 30 once you've signed up to the site.

If you publish original content and stay within the rules it won't be hard to get it over 75. On the other hand if it remains low then it's an indication that the Hubber is doing something not quite right.

darkside, but I got THOSE 30 points, it appears, for inviting someone here who joined HubPages.  It was a referral.

I was wrong.  I realize now that the Hubber Score I was seeing is that of the person who I invited here, and who joined.  It has nothing to do with MY score.

I read acouple of your hubs I really enjoyed them. You provide a lot of nice information. I think if it is your desire to get increase your score, my advice would be the same as cloudy days offered.

I had the same question. Finally I just cobbled together a detailed answer. http://hubpages.com/hub/HubPages-Nofollow

The main points are you have to have at least a 75 to have your links "do followed".Second, the higher your HubRank, the more likely it is for your hubs to appear on those lists of different hubs that the system generates.

OK.  I'm starting to get it.  This site gets deeper and deeper, but it is a really interesting platform.  Thanks for all the advice.  HubLlama: I read your "nofollow" post.  That was completely new to me.

Here is hubpages guide to your hubber score: http://hubpages.com/guide/stats/hubscore

Some of the pictures are out of date, but the chart at the bottom of the page shows you what the # on your avatar represents.  As you have only been here a few days, I would not think too much about it.  Once you have been here a couple of weeks, then you can begin to take it seriously.  smile
