My son saw a ghost in our house. A young girl dressed in victorian gear. The strange thing was a web camera was on and my daughter's friend saw it as well on our computer. When my son heard my daughter discussing this he got very agitated. He would never have told us of his experience because he doesn't
believe in such things.
I must find out more details about the history of our house.
The title of this thread is, without a doubt, the stupidest question I have read since high school.
You can believe in ghosts, that's completely up to you and I'm not going to try to change what you believe in, and I can't say for sure if there are ghosts in this world or not.
But ghosts have never been seen on camera, so your daughters friend could not have seen a ghost through a webcam.
And yes, one more thing, a ghost? Seriously? Since you clearly believe in those, can you tell me exactly what they are?
I don't think I've seen a ghost, but I've seen "shadows" of a person in my hallway and sometimes I get a whiff of my grandmother's smell.
That's really interesting. I wonder what it means.
Years ago I was nursing in an old fevers hospital. Our ward was full, and in the middle of the night there were around six of us sitting in the corridor where we could hear if any patient awoke and required us. The ward was a building on its own with double doors at each end which we kept locked to deter prowlers.
We all heard the footsteps down the corridor round the corner, and saw the white flash of the end of a doctor's coat.
At seeing that we all briefly relaxed until we realised there was no doctor in that night.
All six of us held on to each other while we went to investigate, but true enough there was no doctor - the room he would have been in was full of walking aids. There was nobody there - except us and a ward full of sleeping patients - and no it wasn't any of them, they were all bedridden. The doors were locked from the inside and we had the only keys.
Ghost? You tell me....
I don't entirely believe in ghosts. But some things just can't be explained.
I think of life force as being an energy. Now my basic school physics taught me many years ago (it might have changed now, I don't know) that energy can't die - that it changes! Can't remember all the details, but we have kinetic energy, potential energy and at least one other -the name escapes me.
Anyway, if the human life force is an energy, it can't die. I'm not talking about our mortal bodies. So it changes into something else.
And who knows after that?
Maybe ghosts are energy forces that have something else to do before they change completely? Ore something went wrong?
Okay, that's a very valid point.
I, personally believe there is nothing after this life. Once we draw that last breath, our time here is over; there is nothing more.
I don't believe in ghosts, and I never will. As I said, I'm not looking to change what anyone believes, I'm more here to debate it.
But then again, you brought up a very valid point to the table.
do you think its possable a spirt world exists? not that "ghosts" are the result of dead people, but rather, another life form?
I know how stupid it sounds to someone who has never seen anything unatural.
One day my 5 year old daughter started screaming uncontrollably. I went upstairs to her bedroom and she was hunched up in the corner. I grabbed her and hugged her in alarm, and said whats wrong?
sobbing she said "that girl wouldn't let me pass." she pointed to the doorway
"what girl?" I asked
"she went away when you came up. shes not there now."
I said.."but honey, there IS no girl in this house? what did she say?"
"Well, at first I thought she was you, so I went over, and then she looked mad and wouldnt move. I wanted to go downstairs but she wouldnt let me go by!!!"
Since then I have twice seen the refelection of a young girl dressed in a yellow flowered dress. once in my TV and once in my microwave.
I hear footstpes all the time, when no one is awake but me.
This is not the first thing thats happned, but the most recent.
Either I am crazy, lying, delusional, or there are things that exist, wether you believe in them or not.
Didn't I read that you're a doctor, NewYorker? I have a question regarding a phenomenon that you might be able to explain. Many years ago-true story-I was making love and about to climax when my 10 year deceased mother sat on the bed and took my hand, telling me that everything was going to be fine. I had apparently had a grand mal seizure rather than an orgasm. I have never 'seen' her since, nor have I had another seizure. Ghost or medical condition? Or the most bizarre orgasm in the world?
whoa....that has to be THE WORST time to see your mother.... your partner must have been alarmed?
Well, he's always boasted that he almost f**d me to death!
A mental condition. This happens - Hasn't been explained why. At least not that I know of.
And seanorjohn, I'm not pretending to be a doctor, TheGlassSpider can actually confirm that I am a doctor. Sara Tonyn was trying to make herself look smart by making irrational conclusions about me, and calling me a liar, which I did not appreciate. And what did she want for a proof? MY CELL PHONE NUMBER OR MY AMA NUMBER?
Never give up cell phone numbers on the internet, everyone knows that.
And I'm not a member of the AMA, I'm a member of the APA. And if I had given her my APA number, she could literally be me
I don't care if you believe me or not, I know what I am and don't have to proof it to anyone.
At least keep your story straight.
I never asked for your cell phone number, I asked for a number where I could reach you at the hospital you say you work at. A PUBLIC phone number -- the hospital's main number -- with or without an extension will suffice (along with your name of course). I can get your extension from information. And AMA numbers can be verified by anyone online; that's not classified info. You're also free to produce other proof, if you prefer.
Yet you haven't produced anything that proves you're a board certified psychiatrist. Nothing.
Straight up -- I think you should be banned from posting unless you can prove you're a "board certified psychiatrist", which of course you clearly are not. Medical advice from a pretend doctor is flat-out dangerous.
My offer stands. If you can prove you're a "board certified psychiatrist", I'll write a hub apologizing to you.
Now what schools did you attend? Start with the college you entered when you were 15 years old. (That's based on your claim that you're 27 and board certified.)
There is a good chapter in the book the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins which explains how the human mind changes it's perceptions.
The entire book is an entertaining read which I think anyone with any religious tendancies should read!
I'm not a bible thumper. I don't believe in all that, though sometimes I wish I did. It must be very comforting sometimes.
I try to look for reasons for things I can't understand, within the limited scientific knowledge I have.
A ghost is simply the electrical energy left over from people when they die, that does not lay to rest because of trauma, unrest, unfinished business, or some kind of experience that happened over and over in the past that keeps them caught in a loop of sorts, for the lack of a better word.
I believe in ghost, I live with one now...I have had two other encounters with ghosts in my life so yep I have seen and believe in ghosts.
yes, electical magnetic energy that can be measured by electrical magnetic meters, and also by temperature changes within a room for no apparent reason. A lot of people do not believe in things that they do not understand, therefore declaring they are not real. That to me is a rediculous point of view. we can't see atoms, and other things we know exist
Sometimes I think my apartment must be haunted, but other times I think it is all in my head.
Also, if you have captured this ghost on camera, why don't you post it in a hub? I'd love to see proof of a ghost and there is a man somewhere who offers $1,000,000.00 to anyone who has proof of the paranormal.
When i was about nine years old I was walking home from school, our house was in the country just outside town, I had to pass a tall stone barn on the way home, as I was passing a man called to me, he looked like he was hurt so I stopped my bike and went over to help him, I could see he was bleeding from his chest, I asked if I could help, he said he was ok, he told me that he had a son my age but he could not get to see him, I asked what he meant and he said that his son was not able to see him, I was sort of confused, he talked to me for a while, he told me that he liked the summer time, he liked the smell of freshly cut grass, after a few minutes he said I should go home as my family would be waiting for me.......I said goodbye.....when I got home I told my mother what had happened......she said that I should not trouble myself as the man would be ok........when I grew up I discovered that this man who had appeared to me, was shot dead in 1981, and he appears at the same place where he was shot dead each year.......
On another occassion I was in the shower and a hand touched me in a sensitive spot, but it was ok it was my girlfriend
yes and I was so afraid I pulled her into the shower and we became as one
Yes I did Came to be less frieghtened....she also Came to be less frienghtened....so together we came to be less frieghtened
I saw the ghost of a monkey who had a big banana. twas really surreal and disturbing, I had to have therapy!!!!
You must be bananas to experience this sort of monkey business.
It took a while...but it all Came together at the end
i was having think that in my room there r ghosts so for that i dont use to go in my room for a many months..then one day when i went in my room for a work then i saw a greenish brown cat n then i shout loud n run down to my family when in the morning my family did investigation then they knew that the cat camed from my neighboures frm the window..ah! i was really scared at that time..HUMBAH PAG

I've always been interested in this topic and love watching that show, Haunted. I'm not sure I'd really want to see a ghost, though, and don't actively seek to disturb the dead. I had a weird experience a few years ago when we went to Salem, MA. I went to use the ladies' room, which was in the...

Have you had experience of a ghost? When I was a teenager a ghost of a young girl moved across my room. Recently I was in an Inn and left my drink on the bar when I went over to talk to someone. No one was near the glass when it flew off the bar and smashed on the floor! The bar staff said things...

Have you ever seen a ghost?Have you ever had the feeling that you're not alone yet knowing no one is there: seen something you know is not of the living world? Felt a shiver run down your spine; sensed a spirit; seen a ghost?

Has anybody out there seen a ghost? Or thought they had a spiritual experience like that? I haven't but I am interested in the paranormal.

Has anyone had any paranormal experiences, whether they've seen or heard a spirit- or any other unexplained activity?I haven't had any as of yet. However, my mom says that she saw her father in church after he died, and we also smelled his cologne around the house. Also, my sister claims to have...
