Have you ever had a personal encounter with a Bigfoot?
I would love to hear about it.
Well, being I live right smack dab in the middle of a well-known sighting, I've never seen him. You need to see the tasteless cult classic "The Legend of Boggy Creek". It's all about it. No monstero..though I hear plenty about him.

Wow donotfear! A real actual photo! I did not believe it before this astonishing irrefutable evidence!
Oh yes. Living here in the Sulphur River bottoms there's no telling what you'll see.
On a serious note, there are strange sounds out here. Cows bellowing often sound eerie. Coyotes howling sound human. I've heard some strange things, but it doesn't really scare me, not usually. One evening, though, I was taking a walk down my road, very secluded...walking through an area that is rather low & swampy. I heard a low growl, or what I thought was a growl. Sorta like the jake break on a semi truck, ya know? But I got home quick. Coulda been a panther. Who knows.?
Also true, I came home after dark on a Halloween night. About 6:30 pm. Windy, balmy, warm night. I went to the barn to feed my horse & mule. They were both covered in sweat, like they'd been running for hours. I was afraid to feed them being that hot. No explanation. Who or what was running my animals? They were acting strangely. Blowing, snorting, prancing....jumping around, gazing back into the pasture. It was disturbing and put me on alert. Needless to say, we're always packin' around here with plenty of ammunition. But who's to know what it really was?
I lived deep in the bush for a long time, but no bush sound even wakes me!
As a little kid, my Dad told me, "there is nothing to fear out here when you sleep in the open," and I still feel the same way today. Animals need to be respected in the wild, but they are much safer to be around than other humans in my view!
You're definitely right. The animals are more afraid of us than we are of them. A snake will usually try to crawl away. Even coyotes are shy, with humans. I've never seen a bobcat, period. Only thing I really fear are our own cows, especially the white Brahma....she's a bit spooky. And of course, dogs, neighbors dogs. I hate the big one's who come out and bark when you walk past. Scary.
My sister was actually stalked by a bobcat for several weeks... She used to take care of her neighbors horses and one day she saw it watching her... This is in Az, anyway some tracker friends of hers looked at the trails and they were weeks old, it had been following her scent and learning her routine! Talk about scary!!
Yes donotfear, it is only the domesticated animals that pose any real risk isn't it?
People who think that animals and birds just make sound has never lived in the bush for a long time I feel.
They all have conversations especially in the evening. An ordinary old Australian magpie has an enormous vocabulary of sounds, and although I do not speak magpie fluently I do get the tone of what they are saying. Mostly family stuff! Come on you kids, time to come home! and You get your lazy but back here and fix the nest at night, and a special song for the warm sun in the morning all the tones very mellow!
I did not know that behind that anti-bulldust armour plate there was such a lyrical person !! you should write a poem on it
Thank you alternate poet, I have a deep love of all the animals and creatures I am lucky enough to encounter. Some of the bird communication is startlingly beautiful and full of variety.
I still here magpies saying things I have never heard before after all these years around them. Australian cities even as big as this one, are full of trees, parks and big properties with trees and lawn. The birds followed me to the city I reckon. Out the window next to where I work, I see and hear them all day.
Wow, I guess I'm not crazy then. The past few weeks the toad who lives right outside my window in the garden has been calling to his lady with really beautiful throaty trills and songs that must have drawn her to him, because for the last two nights he's been singing wildly with lots of pauses, it sounds so sexy! yes, I know, crazy, but this spring especially ALL the birds and froggys and lizards and squirrels and even a coyote - all have been so wildly voluble - singing and croaking and chattering and scampering and making the most amazing flights (bluebird courtship is ecstatic) so that there must be going to be a huge wildlife population explosion in a few weeks. very real and very wonderful.
I'm actually fascinated by Bigfoot, or rather the Sasquatch. Whether they are real or not, part of me doubts it, but part of me does wonder. Although I enjoy reading everyone's back and forth... too funny!
Bigfoot! my bigfoot! Where have you been?
Deep in the forest where I can't be seen
Bigfoot my bigfoot why show yourself now?
I got the press! I'll make bucket loads ... POW!

What a wonderful notion these Christians have, they find faith in the Bible. Hmmm, let us think about that. In the Bible Christ tells us that He is the Word. So does Paul. Paul got his stuff second hand for much of what he knew. He also had close encounters with a risen Lord Christ. Since he wrote...

As a guest was leaving I was going to bring out a bag of trash (because I don't really like going out in the dark yard alone). There are woods around my street, and we have all the usual woodland creatures (and owls) including deer. We have coyotes too. As far as I know, we don't...

What sounds remind you of your childhood?Whenever I hear music that sounds like the ice cream truck, I'm taken back to hot summer evening when all of us would throw our bicycles, balls, and bats and run screaming "Ice Cream!" to race to where it was parked. Certain songs take me...

How does a ventriloquist manage to pronounce the sounds of certain consonants, such as "B" "F" "M" "P" "V" "W" without moving the lips? Each of those sounds involves the lips to produce the sound of that letter.
