A Blogger stole my poem and I can't get it removed!

   I published a poem on HP in 2012.  I thought it was very good, but it never got much traffic.  I unpublished it.  When it was on HP, it was copied and used verbatim on a blog on Blogger.  I did not know that at the time.
   
   I tried to republish it on HP, and was informed it as a duplicate!  I have filed a DMCA complaint twice.  I made several comments on the blog itself asking the writer to please delete it.
   
   My poem is still on her blog!  This person must never read her comments, or she is just ignoring me. 
   
   Is it worth my time to continue to try and get her to remove my poem, or should I just be thankful the poem is out there in cyberspace for others to read?

      I have a recipe hub that I can't get taken down. I filed twice since November. I've decided to let it go for now until I can find another route. I'm picking my battles.

      Yes, you should keep up trying to get it removed.  Where did you file the DMCA request?  Check my Hub about getting content removed from Blogger/Blogspot and follow it exactly.
      
      Since/if your Hub containing the poem is no longer online, try to find the archive of your old Hub here, using the year it was last on HP:

         Thanks so much for that link.  I am not exactly sure of the date I published the poem on HP.  I checked the year 2012, but it doesn't show.  I'll go back later and try a different year.   I filed the complaint using the form HP supplies that goes to Google.  I will check your Hub.

            Do you have the Title of your old Hub with the poem in it?  If so, paste it here.
            Also, what is the URL of the page where it is plagiarized?  Paste it here, but put spaces in it so that it is not clickable.

      I am so sorry this has happened.  I do hope the woman takes it down!  My goodness, that is just downright ugly.  I remember when I first joined HP, I published a poem and was notified by a nice hubber that it was stolen.  I remember how I felt that my own personal experiences that I had written of in a poem, someone was claiming as their own!  I felt so violated.  I had no clue what to do about it then.  Since then, I have had some other hubs stolen.  But this is getting to be such a huge problem, it is hard to keep up!

            Mary, I have just found out that my hubpages name is stolen and being used to sell sexy underwear. I have posted it in the forum but in the beauty forum discussion. I should have chosen the HP community forum. that is really so bad that we keep on fighting for plagiarists.

      That's terrible Mary. I hope you get to republish your poem. You would think there would be no satisfaction at all in stealing someone elses work. Nothing surprises me. So, I guess its better to edit. This is very unfair.

         HP is aware of my poem being published on another site.  I think it is up to us to take any action, though.  My complaints have not done any good as of today.

      Mary, This is the first I have seen any of this. I am so sorry! If I had known all this was happening, I would have removed your poem right away. It was/is a very lovely poem and it fit perfectly in a blog post about remembering my mom. Oh, please forgive me! I guess I thought since it was ' published' on the internet, I figured it was ok to copy/paste it in my memorial post. I realize now I should have given you credit for the poem. ( or read the comments ) Gosh, I feel horrible about all this. Again, please forgive me, Mary. And no, I never much read any comments on my blog; I never even realized there were comments. I was very new at blogging and was/am rather ignorant. I am  sorry.

         It's never okay to copy or use anything that belongs to another without permission. Next time, ask permission before using. For that reason, I have installed a plugin on my blog to prevent people from copying my poems.

   The internet is a vicious place in regards to intellectual theft - Welcome to the victims club
   
   The best you can do if the webpages don't have reputable admins (where the content was shared) is report it to google, and bing....that way it will at least be unsearchable via their databases.

   I have had several of my yugioh hubs get stolen and placed on a blog about gaming and I have asked nicely, left comments and filed to have them removed and still they remain there. If the owner would have asked and provided a direct link back to my hubpages or even just gave credit were it was due I would have never had an issue.

         You're welcome, Mary.  I'm glad I could find it.  You have a right to own your own work!  The woman probably just doesn't check comments on her two-year-old posts.  In fact, it doesn't look like she gets many comments!
         
         It could take 7 – 10 days for Blogger to take it down.  Let us know when they do.

            Writer Fox, I just completed filing the DMCA complaint.  I did it exactly as you directed me.  I do appreciate your time and effort in helping me on this.  I'll let you know if and when my poem is deleted from her blog.   I don't publish much poetry, but I was especially proud of that one, and I want it back!

      That's such good news!  Now, you need to remove the cache of the plagiarized content from search engines.
      
      To remove the cache from Google, go to:
      https://support.google.com/webmasters/a … 3691?hl=en
      
      To remove the cache from Bing:
      Go to www.bing.com/webmaster/tools/content-removal and sign in with your Microsoft account (formerly known as Windows Live ID).
      In the Content URL input box, enter the exact URL you found in the Bing Web results (for example, by using Copy Shortcut/Copy Link Address functionality in your browser).
      In the Removal Type drop-down menu, select Outdated Cache Removal.
      In the Cached Page Text if the page is still live without your content, enter a word that still appears on the cached page that no longer appears on the page that is live on the Web.
      Click Submit.
      
      When the cache is removed, you can publish your work on HP.  If you encounter a problem on HP with 'duplicate content', just send an email and tell them the plagiarized content was removed and refer to this Forum thread.
