What do you guys think about the Google Knoll?

    Will it hurt HubPages' traffic?

If you have a hub and a Knoll then I would think that Google will favour it's own,so,more traffic to Knoll and possibly less to sites like HubPages/Squidoo etc.

      More info below......

That's an interesting stuff. I'll jump the bandwagon as soon as it's open to the public...

I dunno if they will all look like the sample, or if you can change the layout, etc - but the look was pretty unappealing to me. It reminded me of a uni textbook. Its not something Id read, and its not something Id want to create content with. My eyes glazed over.

Any complaints Ive ever made about hubpages being dully colored, etc - I take it all back! tongue

As for favoring content, I'd think it's in their best interest not to screw with that too much, they do make zillions from adsense publishers as it is. Besides, that would kind of make them an unscrupulous monoply, wouldnt it?

Blogger, Youtube, Knols - whats next.. Google Jet?

LOL Isa, they'll die eventually, as every monopoly does... But while they are afloat, why not to use them to my advantage?

If Knol does materialize, it is one of the best places to market whatever you need to market. Even better than HP (no offense intended), just because it is Google...

That does not mean that I'm going to leave HP for Knol, though smile I market in a million of different places, this will be just one more, albeit one of the best...

Some of Google's new products have been successful (gmail) and others have not done so well (orkut).  Google were successful from the start for providing the best search results.

Now the top search results are sponsored listings, wikipedia, some youtube, videos mixed in with some blogger entries.

Google needs to get back on track to what it is good at, or another new search engine will be just waiting to take over.

HP could also be a takeover target for Google if their own product doesn't work well.
