Article Subtitle: "CDC: 4,000 in U.S. died, including 540 KIDS, between April and mid-October". This is a scary statistic and based on this, we should again call on Congress to PASS HEALTHCARE REFORM ASAP (INCLUDING FINES FOR PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO GET COVERAGE, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO REFUSE TO GET COVERAGE FOR THEIR KIDS) because they are the future

Fines? What about the poor who cannot afford to pay? How many people do you really believe are going to refuse healthcare? If millions of Americans understood it better then many would not be questioning the policy. I am all for healthcare reform however penalties are a little far fetched, I believe all of us already pay to much in taxes so why should people have to pa fines? smile

Those numbers seem kind of high when you consider only about 135 have died in Canada to date.  You might want to check your numbers and your hype. smile

Again, 36,000 Americans die from the regular flu every year.

Swine flu has a long way to go to catch up smile

First, regarding the H1N1, if you have followed the CDC map since last summer, you would see that the swine flu made its first round on the east coast then moved into the southern states for their first round. Currently, we are in the second round on the east coast, H1N1 is moving out of the first round
in the southern states. If you want to know what the swine flu is likely to do, read the history of the 1918 flu. Historically, it made a second and third round with increased deaths.
As far as the health care reform, why would you fine the poor? Fine the insurance companies for robbing us blind, the big businesses for bankrupting the middle class, and boot those
people out of congress who are so far removed from the needs of the American public that they can't see the forest for the trees.

As I was scrolling down, I was thinking exactly that. I don't see what all this big fuss is, seeing the statistics on seasonal flu. I haven't gotten the regular shot in years now, and I'm not worried about rushing to get the 'swine scare shot.'
