I've come across several links in the last few days where the "hubpages" has been completely removed from the link making it a dead end. I've fixed a few already but I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I originally thought it was because of the trackers but it seems to happen only when the link starts with http. For instance:

    http://hubpages.com/hub/HUBNAME

    BECOMES

    http:///hub/HUBNAME

But links that look like this stay the same:

    hubpages.com/hub/HUBNAME

I have three of my hubs showing that they don't exist, but have never received an email stating that they were going to be unpublished. I'm not sure how to fix an error with the URL. I have clicked on the hubs expecting to see a message and haven't seen one there either. Not sure what the deal is.

Do you mean that clicking the link takes you to a page that doesn't exist? You may have the same error I have - it's not your hubs but the link itself which is the problem.

Can you access the hubs normally from other locations (account page, profile?)

Yes, I can access the link from other places. I noticed that those three I could't from Twitter. I need to spend a day trying to find out how many others are like that.

Since no one seems to be noticing, here are some examples (see referral or hub links on these profiles, try clicking them.)

    http://hubpages.com/profile/CMHypno
    http://hubpages.com/profile/earnestshub
    http://hubpages.com/profile/psf
    http://hubpages.com/profile/WriteAngled

That's just a few examples. It seems to only happen when people begin their links with http

I'm not seeing it. Can you link a hub that has a weird url?

open up Earnest's profile and in the text, click on his "join HubPages, it's free" at the bottom of the text block.

Oh I see it now, thanks for that. Just went and checked my own and they seem to be OK.

Already checked yours Izzy. The reason yours works fine is coz you didn't start the link with http://

Yes, it looks like these links were encoded badly. There are a couple of different types of errors.

If anyone of you know those Hubbers, maybe you could send them a quick note to fix their links.

It's NOT the hubber's fault. It happened to the links on my own profile and I corrected them. It's something on Hubpages end, because my links always worked. And there are enough hubbers with this problem that I doubt it's an accidental miscoding.

If you want more proof I will go find more hubs with this issue. Really, it's not a problem our end. smile

I just tried adding two HubPages link to my profile: one without the http:// and the other with. Both seem to work.

        Could you find some others?

Been looking for a bit... seems people just don't put their referrals on their profiles any more. Or have been doing the linking just starting with hubpages.com/hub/... but will keep looking!

I know for a fact that my profile links worked before. And some of the people listed above I'd be very surprised if they didn't know how to properly link.

I just looked at the top 10 Hubbers listed in the "Hubbers" section and all of the links seemed to work OK. Most were without http:// but some had it.

If you could find others, please let me know. I do see typos in Hub links fairly often, but usually it's the type of forgetting the underscore before the Referral Tracker, or a forward slash.

How do I fix my links? Sorry, I'm not computer savy. I noticed that none of them showed up as malicious or broken when I checked by clinking on the broken link boxes. Thanks!

The links on your profile appear to work perfectly. Think it's a random glitch. smile If you can click a link and it goes to the right place, then you're fine. smile

Thanks, I am still not sure why some of them can't be seen from twitter. I see one of my accolades ran off again so hopefully it is just a glitch. Thanks again!

I see my name is here, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.I have never understood how to set up referral links. I did the one on my profile after spending more than an hour trawling through various hubs on how to do it, and I still don't understand what I've done wrong.

http//hubpages.com/_tehuti/user/new is what's one there, should be http://www.hubpages.com/_tehuti/user/new OR http://hubpages.com/_tehuti/user/new

Did you click the link when you first made it, to check?

I think I did, but really don't remember.

Thank you, going to change it now.

I am pretty sure that when I made my links, I used http: to start them so whatever the issue is, it can't be that, or just that.
