Are you going to play Diablo III ?

What character class did you choose to play?

What do you think about ACT 1? Should It have more story from Diablo 1&2 to connect to Diablo III ?

I sadly have to wait until I can slap together a PC that can run it, but oh yes, I will play the nine hells out of this!
A friend of mine played the beta, and highly recommends the witch doctor class, so that's where I'll likely start.
As for the story continuity, since they rolled out poor Deckard Cain to go through hell again, that's enough story connection for me.

I briefly tried to play diablo 2, but didn't care for it. Part of the reason was because I didn't have any investment in the story and part of it was because I was playing it long after the game was out of date. But I will definitely consider playing diablo 3. It's kind of like the elder scrolls for me. I hated Morrowind because I came onto the scene late and missed a lot of modern advancements games have now. But I loved Oblivion to death. So I'm wondering if Diablo 2 and 3 will be a similar situation for me. I'll wait to see what everyone says and hope for a demo to give it a shot.

Yeah, I think Diablo 2 was a mixed bag in the story department. On one hand you have those AMAZING cinematics between acts, and great music/atmosphere. On the other hand: hours of gameplay where you feel completely disconnected from the story.

You may be a bit disappointed.

Diablo III is hack'n'slash RPG and is quite well infamous mouse-breaker.

OTOH: If you LOVED Oblivion - You will ADORE Skyrim.

Same world, same idea, different province. MUCH better story.

I really wanted to resist the call of Diablo 3.  Blizzard's antic with their DRM non-sense and server based offline play, really irk me.  Alas I couldn't hold out.  I traded my self respect for a Wizard and never looked back.

Is it the price, or the almost failed start making you reconsider?
