   BBC is the only haven today. CNN is an all-day Trump Trial and Fox is an all-day pro-Palestine protests.
   
   Since there are visuals of protesters shouting Death to America as well as  Death to Isreal, describing them as anti-Isreal is no longer enough.
   
   The protests that have shut down the Golden Gate and the one shutting access to a major airport should not be allowed. Why are California police allowing the bridge to be closed?
   
   This issue is bright Red and I can't think of any Blue rationalizations to defend these actions.
   
   So, here's the red meat: It's nuts. They're manipulated idiots.
   
   You CNN fans will have to go to YouTube to get your news.

      The California Highway Patrol said its officers are “actively engaged in the de-escalation of multiple ongoing protests in the Bay Area. This is an intricate operation. Attempting to block or shut down a freeway or state highway to protest is unlawful, dangerous, and prevents motorists from safely reaching their destinations.”
      
      As of 2 p.m. on Monday, the CHP said officers were making arrests at the following protest locations:
      
      On I-880 at Embarcadero: The CHP said, “Officers had to contend with 55-gallon drums filled with cement and heavy-duty chains attaching protesters to the drums. They are actively working to remove these individuals and lanes will be reopened. These individuals will be arrested.”
      On I-880 at 7th Street: The CHP said, “Approximately 300 protestors refused to comply with orders to disperse. Arrests are taking place.”
      On the Golden Gate Bridge: The CHP said, “Protesters utilized stationary vehicles to chain themselves to as they refused to clear lanes. Approximately 20 people have been arrested and are in custody. The Golden Gate Bridge reopened at approximately 12:15 p.m.
      
      I think it's clear that they did not "allow" anything to be closed but that it did take some time to get that number of people under control.

         Yeah, after watching the live streams of the police standing around for an extended period, with commenters noting it had been 3 or 4 hours and traffic was backed up out of sight, and seeing passengers lugging their luggage across the median strip to catch flights, and then seeing a clip of an activist instructing a room full of volunteers how to chant Death to Isreal  and America in Frasi(?), my thoughts were all Red and that infamous confirmation bias was hitting hard. Right up to the point of the OP, then I stopped short. I knew the police thought needed more thought. So I just opened the conversation. That's not sarcasm It's a mea culpa.
         
         To the complications of extraction; between serious tow services and Fire Dept. Rescue operations it seems a big pair of bolt cutters, or a grinder cutter, or even the 'Jaws of Life', would have been readily available.
         
         However, the exaggeration doesn't negate the point that these types of protests are out of control and the penalties aren't punishments, they are badges of honor. That needs to change, some cost (pain) should come with the action.

      Firstly, while speaking in a cursory sense, is it any different than the late 60's through the early '70's protest against the Vietnam conflict? Sure, strategy may have changed, i.e. the two you brought up, yet has principle, especially in regard to justness of a military conflict? The actors may have changed but it is the same TV show with its plot line. Said with jest, if you don't like it turn the channel. Try Comedy Central.

         It feels different, but that's not support for an answer. I recall the mass assemblies, and I think I recall anti-war camps. I don't recall this topic's type of stuff. You're probably right, the game is the same but the rules have changed.
         
         As mentioned to another, the OP was just a venting cut short.

            You are justified in venting. Without knowledge of the this and that floating in the background of my comment, you wouldn't know I was venting as well. At the time I had just deleted well over twenty (20) midday newsletters and breaking news emails. Wow! Today is a busy day.
            
            Oddly, not one of them were on the incidents you brought up. Of course, they may have been a sub-headline item once the newsletter was opened.
            
            Maybe we can attribute it to that Russian gentleman about how to take over America without firing a shot. I don't remember all the ins and outs of it, but seems to apply don't you think?
            
            BTW . . . in '73, I was in my first year of college. I was in a very large group in Oceanside, CA protesting the Vietnam war at a corner downtown that essentially shut it down. And, I was a registered Republican who voted for Nixon in '72. Go figure  . . . long story.

               As another "BTW", in 73 (74?) I was on a Navy ship evacuating American tourists and citizens from Cyprus at a pier guarded by soldiers with machine guns. No one from the ship could set foot on the pier, but the Americans were allowed to board.
               
               There is a cute story that goes with that relative to a young stud on a 6-month Med cruise deployment.

         The differences....
         
         Between Ukraine and Israel we are fast tracking toward WWIII... I would say we are way past the Cuban Missile Crisis level of probability and getting in the 60 to 70% probability range... close to the point of inevitability.
         
         I will tell you, hearing from the horses mouth of people directly in harms way, in Israel and Russia... there is NO backing down in their words... there is NO compromise in their thinking... both Russia and Israel are in full blown war mode and will accept nothing other than what they determine is completely deferential and acceptable to them. 
         
         They give a rats ass what the rest of the world thinks or wants... 100% committed... neither of these nations, or their people, want anything to do with compromise... they want the eradication of their enemies.
         
         And that's where things REALLY are.  Two years ago Russia was willing to compromise... today they are going to steamroll Ukraine.  And Israel is going to do the same to the Palestinians.... and no one is going to stop either of them, without WWIII and devastation beyond imagination coming with it.
         
         Thanks Biden... your leadership has been invaluable in creating both these disasters.

      There isn't any, protesters who are choking the arteries of a large city have already gone too far. Those that are involved should be dispersed immediately at least to the point where they do not impede on the public thoroughfare.

   Deleted my original post, and decided I wanted to also rant ...  That was my first emotion earlier today when I stumbled on your OP. Soooooo---
   
   Alright, let's break this down. First off, what's up with the state of news channels today? It's like they're all trapped in their own little bubbles, unable to see beyond their narrow agendas. BBC might be the last bastion of sanity amidst the chaos, but even they can't escape the madness entirely. CNN? More like the Trump News Network. I swear, they could have a breaking story about aliens landing on the White House lawn, and they'd still find a way to loop it back to Trump. And Fox?  All-day pro-Palestine protests? Give me a break. Can't they see there's more to the story than just one side's perspective?
   
   And speaking of those protests, what's with all the hate? "Death to America," "Death to Israel"? Seriously? Can we have a little perspective here? It's one thing to peacefully protest and express your grievances, but when you start chanting for death, you've crossed a line. And let's not forget the inconvenience these protests are causing. Shutting down the Golden Gate Bridge? Blocking access to major airports? That's not activism, that's just plain selfishness. And where are the authorities in all of this? Why are they allowing these disruptions to happen? It's their job to maintain order and protect the rights of all citizens, not just those with the loudest voices.
   
   And don't even get me started on the partisan divide. This isn't a red versus blue issue; it's a matter of basic decency and respect for others. There's no rationalization that can justify this kind of behavior. It's time for people to wake up and realize that we're all in this together. We may have differences of opinion, but that doesn't give anyone the right to spread hate or disrupt the lives of others. It's time to turn off the echo chambers, step outside our comfort zones, and start listening to each other for a change. That's the only way we're going to find real solutions to the problems facing our society.

      Yep, the majority of MSM are in their own bubbles. I  bounce around the three mentioned to see the day's news stories. I know what to expect from both Fox and CNN but Fox has 'turned it back a notch' after the lawsuit and CNN has turned 'it' up.

         A while back, I received a warning in the form of a month-long hiatus (ban) I decided to tone down my communication style. As you may recall, I tend to express my views quite directly, occasionally crossing the line of politeness. It can be challenging for me to hold back and switch to a more courteous manner of debating.  However, I believe that the complex issues we face in our political discussions call for a more assertive approach rather than a soft and fluffy one. Upon reviewing my initial comment, which I eventually deleted, I realized it was filled with fluff.
         
         To respect your original post, I felt compelled to express my thoughts more emphatically. I don't see toning it down as a negative move; rather, I recognize the need to strike a balance. Finding that middle ground isn't simple—it goes against my natural inclination to hold back.  My hair spontaneously ignites.

               But how long can I stick around if I follow my natural instincts? Probably not for long. I have two modes: I can engage in a structured debate, presenting evidence-backed arguments from different perspectives on a topic. Or I can get personal and express my unfiltered, instinctual opinions. Unfortunately, the latter often lands me in trouble with moderators.

                  I think we are in a situation where political arguments to be made are clearer than ever, one merely needs to accept and deal with reality (something not all are good with, clearly).
                  
                  If you are not rich, very rich... or opposite, you are living off the government and are not working... then voting Democrat is against your best interests economically/financially.
                  
                  We have an Administration that is paying for tens of millions of migrants to live here.
                  
                  We have an Administration funding the entire economy of a foreign nation.
                  
                  We have an Administration that is allowing for Americans to be fleeced by the Insurance industry... car, health, home insurance costs have gone up 100% in just the last year in most places in America.
                  
                  We have an Administration that supports people committing crimes and being released without bail... and if you don't think allowing for all the shop lifting that is going on without punishment is affecting the prices of items you pay for, then you are as delusional as the Democrats running things in DC.
                  
                  They are running a Trillion dollar deficit every THREE MONTHS... which means Inflation is going to keep going UP... even as Interest rates keep going UP.
                  
                  Which means... whether you are making 50k a year or 5 million a year... continuing to live the lifestyle you are accustomed to is going to go BYE BYE very quickly... perhaps you have noticed?
                  
                  Perhaps you noticed your expenses going up, your insurance costs doubling, your property taxes doubling... its not going away... when we have a government paying to bring in millions of migrants and funding full blown wars... its only going to get worse... because the criminals in charge don't care about you, they are actively trying to destroy your life.

         Haven't they excelled in their efforts or are coming very close?  It appears that those committed to patient strategizing and playing the long game MAY emerge victorious in the end.   
         
         The manipulation  (brainwashing) of minds can be a potent tool for gaining control over a population without resorting to any form of violence. This morning, I turned on Fox News and saw a person disrespecting  (burning) a flag that holds significance to me. It's reminiscent of actions encouraged in certain contexts, like in Iraq. WOW...  When I saw this, the first thing that came to mind was our military that has sworn to protect America, Americans.
         
         Maybe someone in the crowd should have said Don't!   Or maybe in this case three Don'ts. 
         
         When did it become tolerable for Americans to chant "Death To America" in our streets? And when did we become so apathetic that we allow it? It's time to decide where we stand as a nation. There's no room for neutrality anymore. We need to confront what we've allowed to happen, as some actively promote this chaos. Sitting on the fence is no longer an option. We must face the reality of our situation and consider how much worse it could become under a political party that's driving this turmoil. 
         
         Just look where we are, in a short 3 years... Never, in my long life have I witnessed such apathy from citizens. Never, have I been so ashamed, and disgusted.  To put it simply, many Americans have been had!  God Bless America.

   Natural instincts are to reply in kind when insulted. The problem is that we don't always realize when we are the ones doing the initial insulting.
   
   I'm very familiar with being the one doing the insulting. Just haven't been banned for it - yet.
