Have you become healthier by using Wii Fit?
I'm looking into using Wii Fit instead of traveling to the gym... has anyone had any success with this? What kind of workout programs do they offer?
wii fit is ok for awhile. It's a great intro to exercise for those who are out of shape or who just want a fun activity to help them get up and move a bit. It's motivating to get kids up and moving too. You'll find that when you are ready to move to a serious workout or get in good shape a wii fit isn't going to cut it. That being said - it does have its uses. We actually get more exercise with the dancing games and the highly recommended personal trainer game (don't need a wii fit for it).
Wii Fit has useful tools as well for tracking weight loss goals and for accurate weight measurement etc.
I did lose some fat and built more muscle while using Wii Fit. It has some good body weight exercise. However I also lost weight playing sports games on the Wii and I don't need Wii Fit to do body weight exercises. If you are going to use the Wii I recommend you include some fun sports games. You should also do some exercises on your own like jumping rope.
While I use the Wii as part of my workout routine I mostly use it as a form of active entertainment. I get most of my exercise while watching TV or while I am outside. Wii Fit has a lot of balance exercises. You use your abs and other core muscles to balance. It shows you how well your balance is and you can check your weight loss progress but checking your weight does not tell you how much fat you have.

THIS is just a little rant to convince people to forget about the scale and focus on the real enemy - body fat + a little bit of shameless self promotion [rant]The mistake that most people do, when they want to start a exercise program and diet, is to think that the bad shape their body is in is...

Why am I not seeing weight loss when I run?I've been doing cardio exercises like running for 30-60 minutes around 5 pm for 5 days a week for about 3 weeks now. I've also been trying to eat less, and except for the occasional Subway sandwich I think I do pretty well. Yet I see very little progress...
