I'm glad you said this. Aspartame is bad on so many levels and it really affects my bipolar symptoms. Also, RLS can flare up if you're a little dehydrated, so make sure to drink plenty of water during the day.

I believe you are right, there must be some cause, and it's frustrating that the medical system is not helpful in this aspect. I didn't get leg pains when I was pregnant, which makes me think it might be hormonal... I'll look into magnesium!
I was going to suggest magnesium as well. I use it faithfully, for muscle cramps, and pain. It is an amazing supplement. The aspartame actually makes sense as it is derived from phenylaline, an amino acid that stimulates adrenaline.

I've heard that salt soaks works wonders, especially Epsom salt... I'll give it a try!
