Does drinking lots of water really help you lose weight?

The one recommendation I see that most diets share is drinking lots of water. Does water really help you lose weight? How?

water can help you feel full with zero calories. if you drink it cold, warming your stomach back up burns calories. if you are actually losing weight, your body will be making ketones, which require water to be flushed from your system.

I had no idea that something as simple as warming up could burn calories!

As far as I know the water consumption in Liver Ascitus increases the weight and one has flush out water through diuretics.

I would tend to think that drinking water makes you more "full," thus eating less and allowing you to lose weight.

I have heard that drinking water as soon as you wake up in the morning really helps in losing weight. But it should be drunk in an empty stomach. Try and see.

yes, with diet and exercise. If you change to water every time you want something to drink with sugar, like soda, you could show weight loss in a couple of weeks. knock out junk food, and you are on your way.

Water flushes toxins out of the system, and fills you up. When you exercise, muscle fiber tears, water helps the fibers heal. Making the muscle bigger. When your muscle starts growing they require more energy, that energy has to come from somewhere. Fat, that's right. So the more muscle you have, the easier your body can get rid of fat deposits.

Water helps cleanse the body and helps fats leave the body more efficiently. When you burn fatty tissue the fats are converted into heat, water and CO2 so having a little bit more water in the cells smooths out the process.

If you drink moderate amounts of water throughout the day and have a special diet and exercise regime (with a proper calorie count) you'll lose weight gradually - BUT if you drink too much you'll develop water weight which whilst not serious needs to be worked off just like any other substance you ingest.
Drinking way too much water can be dangerous so you need to be careful about the amounts you drink.

actually, salt consumption makes you retain water and put on water weight. water in itself will just be excreted

the amount of water a healthy person must drink to hurt themselves is 18 gallons per day - hard to do.

Drinking a lot of water does not help to reduce weight. If you drink a cup of hot water   first thing in the morning and a glass of hot water last thing in night help to reduce weight.
After each eating drink a cup of hot water. It remove the effect of fatty eating.
By this simple way you will lose the weight and get health without any side effect.
