Let's Talk About It

LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender)

Everyone on the planet has challenges. Many of us keep our personal ones to ourselves and no one bothers us, in fact, others would probably rather not know, so it works out well for all concerned. Some issues however, usually those that feel very important to us, are disclosed or dealt with in public. Depending on how you look at things, this can be good or bad. Sides are created and opinions often are voiced from an emotional reaction to something that feels different from what we've always known and accepted. This is true whether you are discussing politics or sexual orientation. The issues create issues and that's what this week's HubMob is about - issues for the LGBT community.

While this may sound all doomy and gloomy, I don't think it is. There's room (at least in this venue) for the happy ending and celebration of love in a healthy relationship between consenting adults.

Please enjoy the work that our HubMobsters are offering this week. These hubs are meant to inform and entertain. As always, we ask that you please leave each hubber some feedback in the voting poll provided. Thanks.

Happy reading!

Meet the HubMob Team

Each week, your devoted HubMob team seeks ways of making your HubMobbing experience fun and informative.

Ryan Hupfer (Hup) is a bonifide HubPages employee and super Communicator of Awesomeness. Hup is like the president of HubMob land. He gives us direction and keeps the fun and energy alive.

Princessa is the team lead who feeds us the step-by-step instruction and encouragement that we all need to be successful HubMobsters. You can see what I mean by visiting this week's forum thread.

ProCW designs the terrific graphics that we use every week in our HubMob. He's a hubber, as well as an independent writer.

Shirley Anderson (that's me!) moves all the hubs from the weekly forum thread to a central hub for ease in finding and reading all of the work produced for that particular HubMob. I guess you can say that I write the hub hub.

Brought up in a very traditional and very conservative society, I find it interesting looking back,  that in the Philippines we are more accepting of gay men but not women.

I still have family members who would not tolerate it either way, but as I do with everyone else, I can only honor their paths and their choices without imposing mine.

Thank you for this post. It is great.

That's interesting, MSorensson, I was reading something about that in the HubMob forum and it seems to work the other way around here.

I think that your stance of honouring your family's viewpoint without taking it on or imposing your own opinion is very wise.

Thanks so much for coming by to read and comment.

You're still doing a bang-up job here in the hubmobs! I don't take part in them too often, so I don't get to read you nearly enough! What are you gonna do about that, huh? Maybe I'll take part in this one. Do you think this is a good time for me to come out?

Come on out, Christoph, lol. Thanks for another phenomenal hub Shirley. You really did an amazing job on this one - as usual.

Aww, thanks Daisy. I did take it easy out of necessity but the last couple of days have been much better. Think I've finally beaten it because I feel almost better than new! {hugs back}

Christoph, thank-you so much! Umm, if you want to 'come out' in my humble hub, I'd be honoured. Surprised but honoured. As for what I'm gonna do about you not getting to read me enough, well you'll just have to wait and see, buster. *Scratching my head, wondering what the hell I'm going to do, me and my big mouth*

RedElf, thanks a lot! I think I'm blushing!

Hi Shirley, It's been a long time since we joined the Hubmobs and I had to laugh at the first hubmob since the last one..a very controversial topic at that. But this is something that makes us reflect though on where we are now in our life as to respecting each other. Thanks for this. Glad you are feeling better now. Hugs...

Hi, Michelle! Life gets so busy sometimes that we don't get to write for pleasure or principal. You're right about this one being controversial, that's for sure. I don't think that it should be. Can't we all just get along, let everybody live their lives and we all enjoy life peaceably?

I am feeling MUCH better, thanks!

Miss talking to the angels and Charlie, must communicate as soon as I can.

By the way, how's the book coming along? ;)

{hugs back}
