    What inspires your poetry ?

Drawing breathe from an intuitive and sublime source, arousing creativity through a particular emotion or finding aspiration from the divinity of the muses.Perhaps under the influence of Bacchus ? smile

The things that inspire my poetry can be many. It can be a person or an object. It can be a place I have visited or an even that took place. It can be a title of a song or a phrase or word in the song. It can be something I read. It can be nature. It can be my experiences... Basically, anything can inspire me (when the moment is right).

Love inspires my poetry but it doesn't mean my poetry is about love.

Pain and broken things because I want to heal and fix them.
    Sometimes it is just boredom.

Every day things inspire me! smile I have poems about thunder storms and leaf crunching, about heartbreak and new love, about pets and other animals, about particular objects that caught my attention!

What actually gets me in the mood to write the poetry down is usually editing. I'll be helping a friend and editing an essay for them, and then BAM. Something reminds me of an awesome line that would be just perfect for a poem, and I have to grab pen and paper.

Take your inspiration wherever you can get it!

When my attention was more distracted and disjointed, I found it easier to write my woes into words in poetry.

However, now since I have been able to gather my thoughts and express them sufficiently enough, poetry has given way to prose in the form of personal experiences on my hubpages.

Whenever I write poetry, it's usually from life experiences, daily experiences, emotions or fantasies. I write when I am inspired and that is usually a lot. Things around me, sometimes a smell or touch may trigger an inspiration to write something.

There are so many things that inspire me to write poetry.  It could be a little thing that my daughter or son does.  It could be seeing a homeless person or child.  Something that saddens me.  Something that makes me smile or laugh.

    It just happens sometimes.

The only answer I can really give is my heart. If it touches my heart, whether in a good way or a bad way, it tends to come out as a poem.

    Everything.

I wrote poems about friends, about lovers, about the trees, even about the subject "nothing". smile It all depends.

Bacchus indeed, my glass of Red sits in crystal clear beside my Quill always on the ready. I am drawn by my Muse who has passed over yet not so far over that he does not reach out to my soul. My past life experiences come forth froth with mostly dark pieces with a hint of light for shadow effect. My soul cries out, thus I am able to scribe.

My poetry is inspired by what happens in the world, prophecies, scriptures, history, my personal experiences, my family, nature, actually anything and everything. And I always have a cup of coffee by my side.

Dreams, day-dreams; Thoughts and feelings that leave me wanting something and whose origins aren't really known to me. I guess my inspiration is simply mystery and the drive to see into the darker depths.

I take from the world around me.smile  Whatever I see and hear tends to influence what I write in regards to poetry.  Fiction, that's usually whatever rot is seeping out of my brains.smile

I've written this answer in my profile. I'll write the same here.

    When the heart feels,

    When the emotions ooze,

    When the conscience awakes,

    When the memories engulf,

    When laughter visits,

    Poetry happens
