What are some things that inspire you to write?

I have read so many interesting Hubs here and I am just wondering where some of you get your inspiration from.  Does it come to you at night while going to bed?  From something you read?  Please share your thoughts smile thanks!

Usually music sparks a memory of forgotten lore that splashes words to the front of my eyes blinding me with inspiration.

Also reading 19th century poems always makes me realize how inept I really am at writing but inspires me to try.

For me, its my life life experiences, or things I think people might find interesting, things that might spark a discussion.

This isn't exactly conventional, but I think movies are very inspiring.  I like to watch them and really get into the characters' heads, then elaborate on some of those emotions in my stories.

Movies also visualize a lot of things--namely fighting scenes, settings, etc; this helps me with writing and provides entertainment as well!

I get my ideas from things I read. I probably have maybe two original ideas from my own mental quarry.

For me it could be while swimming , biking, swallowing a fly ( see my hub !! ) while peeling potatoes ideas come into my head .
If I try think too hard for a subject it doesn't work as well . As we travel I come across new ideas as well.

Oh life, when i have time to reflect on it. Often we are so busy that inspiration whizzes by us without the time to catch it. Adventures, friends, love, or even just a good book or song. If I canĀ“t think of things to write, I move to a different location, try to take my mind off that particular thing for a while, spend time with friends, play music, or just write a whole bunch of words that I know I would never publish until something decent starts coming out! What about your own inspiration?

Most and above all is the hubs I write about my personal experiences of being a single parent bringing up our two young boys.

Inspiration can come from anywhere and almost anything in life. I can be inspired a lot by life events or sometimes by something I read or see. If you like to write about
something that you know, it is easy to come up with topics in that area.

I hope that this helps.  smile

Animals have  always been an inspiration for me. They are peaceful, content, they know who they are and what they are supposed to do.   I love them!  I paint them!  I follow causes about them!  And now I write about them too!  Thanks for letting me share!

I am inspired by the things that have had the greatest impact on my life or what I am learning myself at the moment. As I seek to find answers to my inner questions, I find answers and the inspiration to share these thoughts with others. The times when I don't write are when I don't trust that this inspiration will matter to anyone else.

The things that inspires me to write are the experiences that I have encountered everyday, the books that I have read and the places that have explored.

I think all the inspirations come automatically when you open your minds and observe those little things happening all around you. My brother is a graphic designer, when he looks at the watch, he rarely sees the time, he rather sees the art in that clock.

This is what we are supposed to do. We have to have a writer's eye and you will find as many ideas that you cannot even write in a given time, as it is happening to me right now tongue

Anything that can move you, inspire you, that sparks passion in you, or you feel strongly about i find tends to be the times my writing is at its best!
