"It is a great life if you don't weaken."  My mother's motto... she lived as much as she could until a stroke took her down. The older I get, the more I understand this.  It means more than the physical side.  It also means the spiritual.  To stand strong in your values and beliefs. It also means to protect what is important and live life without regret.  Finish as much as you can so you are not a burden...

I can appreciate that motto.  I like how it is more personal and is not a famous quote.  That is very interesting.

One that comes to mind immediately is:  "When you have reached the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."

But then I also remember, "Hanging on is suicidal."

The right one comes at the appropriate time. I do not have the source of either quote.

What a good point! Whatever saying we have, there is another saying that says the exact opposite.  Do opposites attract or do birds of a feather flock together?  We really do find the appropriate one for the situation!

"Things that happen to you may not be your fault, but they are thoroughly your responsibility."

Speaks volumes about taking responsibility and not blaming others for whatever happens in your life.

    two from Tom Lehrer:
-I feel that if a person has problems communicating the very least he can do is to shut up.
-Life is like a piano. What you get out of it depends on how you play it.

    one from Herm Albright:
-A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

    and one from Friedrich Neitzshe:
-That which does not kill me, only makes me stronger.

Biblical reference. Don't let anything disturb you. Life is truly a test and being a young adult I was not aware of how difficult it is until I started to experience some big challenges. I though I was alone in it and felt a bit disturbed until I came upon this saying. Now when things go horrible I let them be but I continue to live my life at peace.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's learning to dance in the rain."

"Love everyone as Jesus loved everyone."

"Never let the past determine your future."

Or in the words of my 3 year old daughter, "Don't give up, never give up, keep trying, keep trying."
