Will you write your own book or ghostwrite for a famous author?
Given the opportunity to ghostwrite for a famous author, will you accept the offer? Or simply prefer to write and publish your own book?
I prefer to write my own because I think it would be easier for me to do. I do not have to worry about the style and their plot line. I know that it would be a great stepping stool and financially best, but I want the experience of writing and publishing books to grow into more. Not just fame and recognition, but new challenges like movie adaptations and book tours.
Given the fact that I don't have much money to publish my own book, I'd prefer to ghostwrite first for a famous author. And then when I have the money, I'll begin to work on my very first book. ^___^
Write articles and short stories, earn some money by getting them accepted and published. Here's the test. If you can't a 1,500 word article/short story accepted, how can you expect a novel of 80,000 to be accepted, or get a ghost writing contract?
agree with you sir..
hopefully i'll get to that stage someday..
Already have, but not for a famous author. The majority of famous authors WANT to write their own but may accept collaboration.
On the other hand, famous people, sometimes those whose greatest talent is their silicon enhanced boobs, often employ ghostwriters.
If they would give me the job of ghost-writing their book, I would do it, because I need the cash. However, they are not likely to choose me, unfortunately!
As a ghostwriter I find there is a difference in the two. When I ghostwrite for a client I find that it is more of a "job" with a deadline that I have to keep, so I get right to it. Writing my own book takes a different turn as I know it's mine so there is no rush. I find it takes me longer to finish my own work than it takes to finish a client's. Usually a client will have a concept they want you to work on so it doesn't take away from your own ideas. I try to take on client s with their own plot and outline, so all I need to do is pen the story.

Name a great poet, author or playwright who influenced you to write.I'm assuming that most of us here are writers because we at one point in our growing up thought literature was an amazing thing. Who's your favorite poet or author or what is your favorite work?
