If you had to try a type of writing you have never done; what would it be?

Try to be specific - not just "fiction" - what kind of piece? A poem? a mystery?  Would you go the other way and try your hand at slogan writing or ad copy?  What would you write that is 100% new to you?

For me, I'd want to write a gripping mystery novel akin to Agatha Christie perhaps.  I think that would challenge both the creative and analytical in me.

How about you? What would you write?

I have been interested in writing a screenplay for the longest time.
It would be based on my families biography and would be challenging as well as a creative endevour for me.

A gripping mystery would be fun to develop and write.

A poem.  I think I'm a pretty good poet, but I've never tried to take it seriously.  I already tried writing an ebook, but it has not been all that successful of an endeavor for me.

I would like to write an allegory.  I enjoy reading these types of stories and tend to think this way.  I admire the fact that stories like Moby Dick and The Wizard of Oz are still popular today.  Great question, by the way!

I want to write something in the steampunk genre. I wrote a short story once but it was an exercise that used existing dialogue, so it wasn't an original piece. But, despite my desire, I haven't been able to do it yet. I just can't seem to nail down a story that I want to happen in that universe. I've also toyed with the idea of writing a superhero story. But, since I write novels, a superhero story doesn't fit so well because that genre is so visual.

I would love to write a memoir. I came across my great great grand-uncle's memoir a couple months ago, and It was fascinating to hear about his interactions with other members of my family, and how he lived through events I'd only heard of in history class. Who wouldn't want to give that same awe-inspiring feeling to the future generation?
