What is more Important? The Person ... or the accomplishments behind the Person?
Is there more value to a Human? ... or to his Life-style, Standard-of-living, Status symbol, his degrees hanging on the wall, The Company he works for, the Brand of the clothes he wears, his circle of acquaintances, etc. etc.
Of course that it is much more important to value the PERSON, than the accomplishments behind the person. However, realistically-- our culture holds people to a standard of excellence.
I have trouble watching the Kardashian shows and the Housewives of Whoop Dee Dee Shows - because it seems like all of these shows focus on the outer life-style of the people that are on these shows. Many of these people seem really lonely and neurotic. They are really far from being centered and someone that people should emulate.
There is even an internet campaign to stop the Kardashians from continuing with their TV series.
-------------
As people mature in life, they often seem to move into more of a spiritual awareness than most younger people are striving for.
It is really sad that our modern day culture focuses so much on the outward signs of "success" - rather than something that is intrinsic.
The Person is important and what kind of human being a person is. More value of a person is what a person really is: a good character, good moral, a good heart, is respectful to every creatures on earth.
The accomplishments of a person is nothing for me if this person lacks respect to all humankind and creatures in this world.
So many valuable persons haven't the chance to accomplish something due to financial defizit to pursue advance studies, because of sickness, those born with a poor family, or not courageous enough to go on for a better life due to lack of moral and psychological support from their parents etc.
How a person develops from childhood to adolescence is an important factor to become a good valuable human being.
Lucky for those rich persons whos life paths are covered with red carpets, but a pity for such person who has not had the chance to experience several lifes episodes, challenges and hardships in accomplishing a dream making a better kind of person.
Generally people look up what a person accomplished. Through accomplishments, a person is qualified, belongs to a certain standard and living quality.
Experiences make a person wiser, understanding what life really is and different kinds of persons and human being on earth.
I personally would have to say the person, but society seems to value a persons accomplishments more. good question

I know, you want to answer both. But for the sake of sharing thoughts, we may want to take our stand and justify it. It's something for us to reflect on the importance of both as well, by knowing their importance.

What do you think Einstein meant when he said imagination is more important than knowledge?“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” -...
