    Will you marry me?

    Seriously....What's your call out charge?

And sometimes quite sneakily I have rang up plumbers in the past and added a bit of small talk and then explained the plumbing problem and often they have inadvertently told me what to do to solve the problem without them knowing and I've hung up the phone and then I fitted a new washer on a tap or unblocked a drain.....sneaky! and it didn't cost me a penny!......gift of the gab sometimes!

I trained in France as a plumber and the difference between the most talented and the least talented was 'awesome'. Try to find a plumber through recommendation. The cheapest is not always the best or the best value. Find well-established local plumbers who serve their own community and if you find a good one, stick with them - forever! (PS If you do all this you don't ask any questions).

If it's plumbing from the wall out learn to do it yourself. It's amazing how easy some of it is. Google D.I.Y. and save much $. Peace!!

First, call the company and explain the problem you are having.  If they say they can handle it, find out if they have a trip charge for coming out to the house.  A reputable plumber will give you a free estimate if they can diagnose the problem upon looking at it wthout doing any exploratory work.

I had a bad experience with a plumber that our family hired once.  He was a friend...never hire your friends!  Long story short, he flooded our home...  He does lots of work in our community but as I found out, he was not insured.  His damages cost my insurance company lots of $... and us months of repair to our entire home.  So the question is:  Are you insured if something goes wrong on this job and causes damage?
