No telling. Maybe because they can or maybe because they lack something in them that makes them feel superior when have the upper hand. It's a mystery as to why some people do the things they do.
I never could figure this one out. Here are some of my guesses: 1) They have low self esteem 2) They want to feel that they are better than you 3) They doubt their own worth so they make others feel less superior 4) They are jealous of you and need to make you look bad so they feel better 5) They are habitual liars and over time they do not know how to stop
