How will Obama explain away the higher 7.3% unemployment rate?
Let's face it. This was another lie or at the very least another broken promise by Obama. How does he think he can lower the unemployment rate while increasing taxes to fund Obamacare? He obviously doesn't see the connection of one one to the other. However, he's not the only dummycrat who doesn't see the connection. And his economic stimuli? A series of big, fat, FAILS!!!
I have never had much faith in the reported unemployment numbers. They can pick and choose who to include and who to ignore when they finalize the number.
We learned they don't include those who exhausted their unemployment insurance and gave up looking for work. They are still unemployed, but not included in the unemployment rate numbers.
We now have a huge number of people who have been cut to part-time due to Obamacare loopholes for employers. Many of them have been forced to seek yet another part-time job to put food on the table. Are part-time employees included in the count of those who found jobs? I don't know, I am asking. If they don't break out part-time jobs from full time jobs, the report is very distorted.
We are fairly sure the numbers were manipulated prior to the 2012 election. Many of the new jobs are minimum wage jobs.
A more accurate report would be to report the total wages paid every month. As an ex-employer, I can assure you the IRS has this information at their fingertips. That would give a far more accurate picture of the current economy than telling us how many people are now working for minimum wage and still qualify for many "entitlements."
I agree with you Poolman. The real answer is so much worse. You'll hear a lot of tooting about the fact that 204,000 jobs were created in spite of the shutdown. But dig deeper and you'll find many more who lost their jobs during that same period.
The same way they have been - by using smoke and mirrors figures. The U6 is what people need to look at, not the false percentage being presented.
Better yet, Obama is going to play the same old tired game of using the displacement mechanism. The answer Obama is going to give is that Bush caused this fiasco with his greed, cronyism, and other excuses. He will NEVER admit HIS INEPTITUDE!
Yep, Obama always use Bush as the scapegoat for his incompetencies and responsibilities. As a president, he would be an F.
Are you kidding. The moron Tea Party shut down the government which rippled through the entire economy and furloughed a half million workers. Just think where we could be if the GOP actually cared about improving conditions for the American people more than they cared about handjive with their backroom financial masters. He probably won't use those exact words, but that will be the gist, I suspect.
I just don't think the reported unemployment numbers have ever been all that accurate. There are far better ways of checking the pulse of the economy. What good are a bunch of part-time minimum wage jobs?
I don't disagree. I was merely making the point that I find this incredibly easy to spin (whether it is entirely right or not). Secret numbers being hidden by the Democrats is far less tangible than the very visible government shutdown.
Makes sense. When a hurricane is headed toward your house, that bathroom faucet that is dripping is the least of your worries. Perhaps if they worked on some of the big problems, the small one's would just go away?

The labor department released the jobless numbers and the good news is the rate dropped to 9%! The bad news is only 36,000 jobs were created...So what's the story? It seems the numbers don't add up! AP reported more than a year ago that it would take 3 million new jobs created to drop the...

My question - President Trump was well known for this statement. "You will get sick of winning." Are you sick of winning? Trump's economy once again this month beats projected unemployment numbers... 18 year low. ...

Who believes that the latest job numbers and the lowered unemployment rate are even real?It is odd that these numbers have improved after Obama bombed at his debate. Jack Welch who is CEO was very bold to speak up about it and he's right. It doesn't seem that we can trust any published...

The nation’s employers added 114,000 jobs in September, a modest showing that was less than the previous month. But the unemployment rate dropped to 7.8 percent from 8.1 percent, the lowest since Obama took office in January 2009. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/06/busin … -8.html?hp
