Is North Korea bluffing about nuking us?
They said they'd nuke us if we played war games in their backyard... and we're doing it.
I would look to who told you that information - who needs to scare their populations to keep them in control - your own media. My guess would be that this is a total fabrication. It would be more productive to ask whether risking nuclear attack just so that you can wave your military manhood around is worth it.
I don't know whether they're bluffing or not. But they certainly bluffed the United States with the "USS Pablo" spy- ship affair a few decades back. They came out and commandered the ship. America responded by despatching the US Navy's 7th Fleet to try to bluff that little country into giving up the Pablo and its crew. "Send a aircraft carrier to three" - a common response.
It didn't work. The US were obliged to withdraw with 'egg on their face.' This was in the days of the Cold War. Was it worth starting a nuclear war with Communist China and possibly Russia (who were regarded as North Korean allies) just to save face? The answer was no. So maybe the North Koreans are bluffing...then maybe not.
China Man, you've got a point. And, to answer your better question, no, it's not worth it.
I never trust the men with the guns. That's a red flag that they're doing something you'd not let them to do, had they no weapons.
But, under that criteria, I don't trust any nation.
The US of A will find out the answer to this question soon methinks
This is not a game of Poker !
What are you going to do call that bluff ?
In my experience you never call the bluff of someone who has nothing to lose and when you look at and consider the state of North Korea and its people what have they to lose ?
For some wierd paranoid reason the Government of North Korea want to start a War... who knows why!
Perhaps it's the ultimate 'Death by Cop' suicide of someone too cowardly to admit they're wrong and have been for nearly 60 years.
Yes, Daniel J. Neumann, I think the North Koreans are bluffing about 'nuking us,' if they have actually made such representations. To the extent that they can keep us on edge, they have achieved their purpose. I think we all know that if North Korean leaders ever actually launched a missile at us, the United States, they would be condemning their nation to oblivion. We, in America, Daniel J. Neumann live with a level of security, despite 9/11, that most other peoples of the world couldn't even dream about.
There's plenty of things to worry -- like who're we gonna nuke! But I wouldn't worry about that, us getting nuked.
After 2010, no individual country or UN sanctions seemed to have any impact on the North Korean government's mission to develop a nuclear missile capable of striking the USA. read more
I am almost certain that they will never find the gumption to push the button. Much of N. Korea IS bat-shit insane... but they're not flat-out retarded. Their nukes are only capable of intermediate range attacks (so, S. Korea and Japan would be likely targets), but they couldn't get those warheads anywhere near us (by conventional methods anyhow).
And if they DO use those nukes? They have signed the death warrant of their entire country and its population.
I have a hub that looks at this

Basically if they have gotten their long range missile working then no. Most of the time they say they will use them in self defence so provided we treat them with respect and as equals and leave them alone America has absolutely nothing to worry about...From them
It's been months. No hard sign of any concrete military action. Mostly North Korea has been sending harmless GPS-jamming signal to South Korea. North Korea wouldn't perform any mass warfare against South Korea or the USA. Instead of our usual expectation, North Korea has been sending spies and recruiting secret supporters in South Korea. Why would North Korea wage a total war against a country that would lead a guaranteed national collapse? North Korea alternatively can influence South Korea within the South Korean government. A much better way it is.
Here is a funny but thoughtful fact. The militant existence of North Korea has become a justified motivation for the Japan-South Korea-America alliance. So maybe we should thank North Korea for helping America's powerful influence. Think differently! I know many people wouldn't appreciate this opinion. But still. Think differently!

What did America do to make North Korea hate us?

I heard this yesterday and today.http://www.kansascity.com/2010/07/23/21 … ponse.htmlDoes N.Korea really understand what will happen to them if they Nuke our Navy? And what do you think should be our response to a Military strike against our navy by N.Korea?

If North Korea really does launch a missile that hit America, what should our response be? I'm not a war monger and in most cases I am against war to solve the issue. But when you say your going to attack a country and try to do it then you have to be proactive. I believe we should treat them like...

Is any-one else in the west fed up of American war mongerings?North Korea is a target again, according to the TV nerws. Why doesn't America mind it's own business, and stop this bullying of smaller countries? The way it is carrying on as though it owns the world, it (its leaders) are risking...
