I wouldn't care. My same-sex wife might care that I'd be showering with someone else that isn't her - but I do know what you mean.
I think that people are getting overly sensitive, and overly stereotypical with this. Just being gay does NOT mean that I am going to jump every woman I meet. (You being straight women with issues about showering with gay women - please also change the written genders for gay men/straight men)
Yes, so some of you are hot. So? So's my wife...and I'm quite happy with her. I'm as likely to perve at you, as you are at some hot guy. Now, think about that - does that say more about you than me? I'm not like to perve, or jump anyone - if you are...well... (smile).
I had a flatmate who after I came out was very odd. Now, I didn't shower with my flatmates - but apparently my rubbing my feet together (a symptom of my RLS mind you..) is me coming on to her. Just because most men would have had a go with her (or at least she thought so) does not mean I would....in fact, I would never...ergh. It was egotistical, and made her look stupid.
In the military - which I am not - I figure that a shower is a shower - you jump in, get clean, get out. If you want to er...do other things in the shower - with yourself, or another - you wait until you are alone. Or you take it to your room. Men and women in the same shower - same thing.
Sigh - we are all human. We all need a shower once in a while (er..hopefully more often than that!). It would be considered water conservation if we all did it at once!.
