I would say both are important but forgiving others is very important because it sets you free from bitterness and retaliation which eventually robs one of peace and joy. Again, it is human nature to forgive oneself and find valid reasons for our actions and decisions, but it is harder to do the same for others. Forgiving others is a virtue and a godly way to show strength and character. Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong; the weak can never forgive (Mahatma Gandhi).
A good question.
They're both important. When you don't forgive someone, you hold hatred in your heart towards. When you don't forgive yourself, then you develop self-hate. And both can be harmful to your health - physically and mentally.
It's not a good way to live whatsoever.
They are both important, however I think to forgive others you must forgive yourself first.
Its like being strong, you cant be there for someone unless you are strong yourself.
However I have to agree that it is unhealthy for anyone to hold this hatred/guilt in.
Others that do not forgive you, obviously think they did nothing wrong and have not forgave themselves. This proves that you are a much better person.
Its like walking away from the argument. If you stay you add fuel to the fire. So if you do not forgive yourself your guilt adds fuel to the fire and leaves a miserable feeling inside.
