Are Christians a persecuted people?
Whether it is restrictive laws in the west or violent and aggressive laws in the East can the world's largest religion truly be persecuted?
You said it the answer is in your question.
Persecuted is too small a word but yes we are.
Reason being we are the light of the world and when sinners see us our light shines on their darkness and because some men rather darkness than light they would hate US (THE LIGHT). Say all manner of things about us, despise us and hate every fiber of our inner being all because we try to live a worthy life and be true to our FATHER GOD
Jesus was persecuted and if we are his followers then we too would be.....
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a
friend of the world is the enemy of God. - James 4:4
My take here is this verse is not addressing people who cheat on their spouses... it is telling people who are a friend of the world - they are cheating on God, as well as His enemy.
Thus the opposite is also true, those who are faithful to God are the enemy of the world. Anyone who is the enemy of the world is going to be persecuted. Ladyjojo said it very well.

Jesus said: In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world. Through Jesus Christ we overcome the world also moment by moment in our life on the earth as we yield ourselves totally to him in every circumstance that we might face in life on the earth.
Every single relgion believes they are being persecuted just ask a jew or a mormon, even atheist believe they are being persecuted.... is just that beliefs crash betwen themselves and when confronted they believe there is "people" againts them...
If Christians are genuinely about their Father's business then yes they will be persecuted at times. They need to make sure they walk in love at all times to avoid this but when they run into someone who hates Christians there is no avoiding it.

I'm an atheist, and even though I'm a generally good person (volunteer at an animal shelter, nice to people, generous, etc.), I've been told I'm going to hell simply because I don't take part in any religion. I'm really not trying to start a fight or argument, I'm really just curious- why are...

Little 3-year-old “Joel” was on his way home from Sunday school when Islamic terrorists ripped his children’s Bible from his hands and tossed it onto a burning pile. Joel ran after his Bible and tried to scoot it out of the flames with a stick. When one of the insurgents saw him, he shoved Joel’s...
