   Any creation is a miracle: birth, art, science, surfing waves. How about polio and small-pox vaccines? Fire? Running water, toilets, furnaces. Love: love is a miracle. I am also a big fan of cooked food and now that I think of it, cooked food is probably a miracle too. They are all around us.

   Of course I believe in miracles. There are too many to list here. Human body itself is full of miracles. Medical doctors barely understand how it functions specially when a frozen heart comes to life again as it thaws.

   In my mind a miracle is an extraordinary event that is perceived as being impossible within the realm of our understanding. For example, if someone were to get shot in the head and survive, virtually unchanged, that would be a miracle. But there are two major problems with miracles that lead me to believe they have no connection to any sort of divine power. The first is bad miracles. For every rare, extraordinary event that works out good for the person involved, there is an equal amount of extraordinary events that work out badly for other people. For example, a young child developing a cancer that previously only existed in elderly adults. We tend not to think of these things as miracles because they're bad, but they have almost the same definition. Maybe one could assume these are the work of a devil figure, but one could just as easily assume that they are completely random events in a world where billions of events happen every second (statistically some are bound to be amazingly good or bad).
   
   The second problem is the failings of human memory. I could recount to you a story from my childhood that would be completely different than the story you would see in the same home video. Not because I'm lying to you, but because I remember the event differently. Over time we naturally make our memories more interesting because we've told them over and over and the details are becoming hazy. Suddenly a memory of a narrow escape from a falling knife is an intricate tale about an angel sweeping you out of harms way. Human perception is incredibly unreliable, and as of right now, it's the only documentation of miracles, so I can't really put much weight to it.

   a miracle is an event that happens without any plausible, scientific, or explainable reason. against all odds, a person survives an accident, a disease, a tragedy, when the reverse should be true.
   if you have had this happen in your life...you believe in them. if you have not, you scoff at and often ridicule those who have.
   time after time a young woman sat in the doctor's office and he would shake his head at her and say, 'you are not supposed to be here.'
   and she would smile and say, 'but i am!' and he would reply, 'the only way i can explain it is that it is a miracle.' this from a man of science...

   I guess at times miracles do happens but mostly because miracles are what everyone sees. We tend to define a miracle as an impossible thing that happens.. well.. impossible things happen everyday!

   Absolutely! I think there are many types of miracles from a child being born into the world to someone providing for a need someone hasn't voiced to accomplishing the impossible.
   
   A miracle as defined by Webster is 1: an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs, 2: an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment, 3 Christian Science : a divinely natural phenomenon experienced humanly as the fulfillment of spiritual law. Based upon this definition, everything from childbirth (extremely outstanding) to winning a Nobel Peace Prize or receiving healing for an unhealable disease could be considered miracles.

    Miracles are simply unexpected kindnesses or beauty.  Successes in the face of adversity.  Yes, I believe in miracles.  The difference between "Miracle" and "Fluke" is that miracles tend to be inspiring.

    Yes I believe in God-given Miracles. I believe that diseases, illnesses, and mental illnesses can be reversed into healing by a Miracle.

    Of course I believe in miracles and by miracles I do not mean a billion dollar lottery prize. There was a situation in my life when my husband was seriously ill. I had no money for his treatment and had to borrow from my tenant for my husband's medical expenses. Unfortunately my husband passed away and the tenant pressurized me to sell the shop to him. I had no other go than to sell the shop. My daughter who was then only seventeen just told' do not sell the shop amma, fight for it'. it was a miracle that I listened to my daughter and even more a miracle when the money minded tenant agreed to keep the loan I borrowed as an advance for the shop and surprisingly raised the rent amount also. All this was over in half an hour and I still think it was god who spoke through my daughter to redeem the shop which to date gives me a steady income.

    Yes, the creation itself is a miracle. Every single individual is a miracle since no two or similar in this world. The varieties in creation baffles our mind. Every flower, every bird, every fish and all living creatures are miracles of God. The space, the earth, the air, the fire and water everything is a miracle. Mind is a greatest miracle since mind weaves dreams during the sleep!

    Yes, I've seen dozens of them.
    
    I'm not talking about "ordinary miracles" -- the kind that seem to be happy accidents or cute coincidences. I'm talking about extraordinary events that coincide -- like praying for traffic to open up in the middle of rush-hour on one of the busiest streets in Los Angeles... and five seconds later, the boulevard contains two miles of empty center lane while the adjacent two lanes remain thick with snarling traffic (remaining that way for four minutes!). Like Moses parting the sea or Peter stepping out of his storm-tossed boat onto the unsettled Sea of Galilee to walk a moment before his master.
    
    Miracles are the true, spiritual self waking up (laying ego to sleep), and bending, breaking or otherwise circumventing the so-called "laws" of physical reality.
    
    God made us in His image. When we reclaim our birthright by coming back to Him, all things are possible. Letting go of ego is the tough part.

    Everything happening around us is miraculous. Miracle is something that awes us or is beyond our natural belief system. Right from our existence to the breeze that we feel and the celestial beings that are beyond our comprehension are miracles. Just as beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, so also miracle for one person is natural for someone else, and is a simple thing to the Lord God Almighty. With God - the Miracle Worker, nothing is impossible.

    Thank you for the answering this question. I also believe in miracles and have seen the miracle of birth, unexplained happenings and surprise moments that some of you have written about. I do see miracles around me - when I am aware enough to see them.
