    Is Eastern philosophy REALLY philosophy?

    I don't personally disregard Eastern philosophy as philosophy, as I understand that philosophy encompasses just about everything. While it may address some of philosophies biggest issues in very different ways, I do believe it has value and it is more or less worth some study. However, in acquiring my first taste of Eastern philosophy, I found that it is very much involved or sort-of intertwined with religion. Unlike Western philosophy, which has sort of been separated and cast out from the world of science and religion (for better or worse). What do you think?

    I disagree. Eastern philosophy has existed a long time back..

    I agree with msorensson. Eastern thought has been around for a long time. And this is where I make a connection; it is all human thought. "As a man thinketh, so is he." Since no man is no better than another, what makes one thought better than another? This is the difference between knowledge and wisdom. We must always seek to know but it is the proper application of that knowledge that makes it wisdom. "You can tell a tree by the fruit it bears." My advice? Learn all that you can.
