What if the hokie pokie really is what it's all about?

No, I mean seriously. I've seen all sorts of things, but what if the hokie pokie really is what it's all about? What does that say for the world?

Then the world is even more absurd and chaotic than I thought. At that point, everyone should band together and summon Cthulhu. We could throw a party and sing We Will All Go Down Together. Okay, the origin of the Hokie Pokie supposedly goes back to the 17th century and its name is derived from the word Hocus Pocus. Suposedly the dance and song and was supposedly meant to make fun of Mass. On the other hand, I have been told that the song is about hard laborers (slaves?) taking a bath. Supposedly, the movements mimic a person putting their hands and feet in hot bath water. In either case, the hokie pokie is not what it's all about.

I would say that it's all about trying and testing things in different ways until you have the confidence to 'throw your wholeself in'.

And if it is what it's all about then I'd see that as positive. Doing the Hokey Pokey is fun and that's what life should be about (having fun) isn't it?

Here in the U.K. they do the 'Hokey Cokey'

If hokie pokie is short for hocus pocus, then it would mean our world is full of deception and misguided communication. On the other hand, If we were to take the song and analyze it, we might come up with a suggestion that we test things out, perhaps shake up our reality, and turn around our concept of things. That could be advantageous.

I think it says, get over yourself, stop over-complicating everything and dance with each other and with the One who is making the music.

I saw your question and laughed for a good five minutes. I would have never thought of it but it's brilliant:)
Well, I'm not sure if it's all about anything in particular but if it is, the Hokie Pokie seems as good a thing as any. Better than some.
Thank you for brightening my day!

What do you mean by "what if" ? The Hokie Pokie is what it's all about.

It would mean that we could control truth by writing a song that says so.
